My Paradise || Taekook

CHAPTER 6

(A/n- I forgot to mention in the last chapter, but everything in Italics is their thoughts.)

After the incident, two days passed, and Jungkook could not think straight. He had to share this with someone; the only person he could talk to was Yugyeom. Jungkook was walking in the corridor of Borahae, lost in his thoughts, when he collided with a body.

Jungkook couldn't keep his balance and stumbled backwards due to the force. He was going to fall on the floor when an arm wrapped around his waist, stopping him from falling. The arm pulled Jungkook towards their owner, making him stand over his feet.

The arms were still wrapped around his waist, and Jungkook could feel himself very close to someone. He raised his head to look who it was and sighed in relief to find someone familiar.

"I was finding you." they both said together. They looked at each other and then started laughing. Yugyeom retracted his hands from Jungkook's waist and stepped back while laughing to create a safe distance between them.

"What happened to my cute baby? Why were you so lost that you weren't even looking where you were going?", Yugyeom asked with a fond smile as he playfully tousled Jungkook's hair. Today, Jungkook looked absolutely endearing in his oversized black hoodie and cozy sweatpants. His palms were tucked halfway into the hoodie, leaving only his fingertips peeking out, making him look like a small fluffball.

Jungkook blinked his eyes twice. "Don't baby me. What do you want?", Jungkook wiggled his eyebrows before continuing. "You do this only when you're nervous and want something, so get to the point."

"Uh... Do you want to go out for dinner with me.", Yugyeom said while rubbing his one hand on his nape. Jungkook tilted his head a bit, he was confused, but nevertheless, he said, "Yes, I am free today, but what's the occasion."

"Huh?... Oh yes, I wanted to tell you something. So today at 9?", Yugyeom said, now fiddling with his fingers. "Okay.", Jungkook said, even though he was confused by Yugyeom's behaviour.

They reached the restaurant and took their seats. "Why are you behaving like this today." Jungkook finally asked after placing an order. "What do you mean? I-I am behaving like always.", Yugyeom replied, and Jungkook sighed.

"No, you are not; you are not even looking me in the eye. You opened the door of the car for me. You pulled out a seat for me when we sat at this table, and most importantly, you brought me to this expensive place." Jungkook said while pointing his finger at Yugyeom, and Yugyeom started to look at everything but Jungkook.

After that waiter arrived and served them food; after two minutes, when Jungkook was still looking at Yugyeom with a questioning gaze while eating, Yugyeom finally replied with a sigh, "Okay, fine, I'll tell you. It's the same reason we are here; I want to tell you something. But first, let's finish our food; I need time."

So they ate silently, and then the dessert, an ice cream sundae, arrived, and Yugyeom decided to speak. "Jungkookie, I want to tell you something, and don't be pressured, but please think about it at least," Yugyeom said, and Jungkook nodded.

Yugyeom dug into his pants pocket and took out a blue velvet box. He placed it on the table and opened it; Jungkook's eyes widened. It was a beautiful ring with a purple ruby in between, and small diamonds outlined the ruby. But the words that Yugyeom said after that left Jungkook more shocked.

"I like you, Jungkook. No, actually, I love you. I have loved you for a long time now, like for always." Jungkook opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out; he was shocked, so Yugyeom continued.
