The night draped Jungkook in its tranquil embrace as he sat alone in front of the fountain, the water's gentle murmur echoing the tumultuous thoughts in his mind. The moon cast a silvery glow over his face, illuminating the conflict within him.

He knew he had started to like Taehyung, but the scars from his past relationships held him captive in a web of fear. His heart had already made its choice, leaning toward Taehyung with each passing day.

Jungkook couldn't deny the sparks that ignited whenever they were together, the warmth that spread through his chest at Taehyung's touch, and the laughter they shared that seemed to chase away all his worries.

It was different, and he couldn't ignore the feeling that this might be something special. Yet, the shadow of his past loomed large.

The heartbreak and betrayal he had endured in the past had left deep wounds, and the fear of getting hurt again was paralysing. Jungkook's head and heart waged a fierce battle, and he found himself torn between taking a chance on happiness and retreating into the safety of his walls.

And then there was Yugyeom, his best friend, who had bared his heart to Jungkook not too long ago. The confession had taken Jungkook by surprise, and he had let Yugyeom down gently, not wanting to hurt their precious friendship.

But now, as his feelings for Taehyung blossomed, guilt gnawed at him. He didn't want to betray Yugyeom's trust or lead him on. Lost in his thoughts, Jungkook sighed deeply, feeling more confused than ever.

The water in the fountain seemed to mirror his inner turmoil, rippling with uncertainty. He couldn't ignore his emotions any longer, and the longer he tried to suppress them, the stronger they seemed to become.

Under the shimmering moonlight, Yugyeom's heart pounded in his chest as he approached the fountain near their house, the very place where countless memories had been etched between him and Jungkook. Tonight, however, he sought closure and a new beginning for both of them.

Jungkook was already there, sitting pensively by the fountain's edge. The soft gurgle of water provided a calming backdrop as Yugyeom took a deep breath and called out to his best friend.

"Kook, can we talk?" Yugyeom's voice held a mixture of hope and vulnerability.

Jungkook was taken aback by a sudden voice near him, but as soon as he saw his best friend, his lips twitched upwards into a beautiful smile, his eyes reflecting a myriad of emotions. "Of course, Yuggy. What's on your mind?"

Yugyeom took a seat beside Jungkook before he turned to face his best friend. With a steady gaze, Yugyeom spoke from his heart, "I know things haven't been easy for you, and I understand why you turned me down. Your past experiences have left you guarded, and I don't want to be the reason you hold back from something beautiful with Taehyung."
