In every other universe eh?

"What a load of bullshit." Miles thought to himself. Was he the only one who cared anymore? The only one who gave a shit about doing everything in his power to make the multiverse a better place?

Despite feeling guilty for insulting them all, his far more aggressive emotions took over. How could they give up on the people closest to them? What kind of Spider-Man were they if they sat there unable and unwilling to even try and find a path where everyone can live?

Miles knew by now, the story of each and every Spider-Man was one of tragedy, never able to save what means the most. However, he also knew his own story, and like his mother made him promise to do, he would never let anyone tell him he didn't deserve to be Spider-Man.

To him? Spider-Man was someone who tried to save everyone, and never gave up on that. The others might've tried and failed, but how could they expect him to let their failures live on through him? He was going to take their failures and use them, use them to make him stronger. Strong enough to do the impossible.

Strong enough to save everyone.

"It's unfortunate you dedicate yourself to all that...goodie two shoes nonsense." He dubbed the teen looking back at him, Prowler Miles.

"So what? You dedicated yourself to being a criminal? Look at this universe! It's burning!" Miles argued, even outside of the window he could spot destruction.

"I suppose that's what happens when a universe loses their one and only Spider-Man." Prowler Miles spat, Miles could almost see the jealousy, the envy in his doppelgänger's eyes. It was incredibly unsettling to see a version of him that could be so...poisoned. Was he himself capable of this? If he had been led down the wrong path?

Miles was reminded there was little time to think about such a thing when his doppelgänger's fist collided with him, his body still pinned underneath the chains that held him to the punching bag.

"What do you want from me?" Miles spat, the slightest bit of blood resonating from his mouth. Prowler Miles only laughed. "To provide an insight on the pain you, the anomaly, have caused me and this world."

"Oh, and to hold you until Miguel gets here."

Miles' eyes widened drastically. "Miguel?!"

"While we don't exactly get along, we both have a common and rather heavy dislike of...anomalies." He smirked, driving his electronic glove back into Miles's abdomen, causing him to spit out some more blood.

"Just one more hit..." Miles thought to himself. He'd been learning to absorb the power source that was his doppelgänger's glove, but with such minimal contact he was forced to absorb only a little each time he was hit. However, after minutes of punishment, Miles just needed a little bit more.

Gritting his teeth, he braced himself, clenching his core. "What would mom think of you?" He spat.

His doppelgänger whirled around, cracking his glove against Miles' face. Thankfully he didn't seem to break any bones, perhaps Miles had stronger physical attributes than he had first assumed. "Don't speak on her name!" Prowler Miles growled.

"Yeah? I'm feeling like I'm about to break out of these chains, and go make her proud."

His uncle laughed from across the room and soon Prowler Miles joined him. "And what makes you so sure of that?"
