"I bet you can't climb that fence Jane! it's too high! Isn't there a thing where short people are afraid of heights?" I heard my boyfriend Toby yelling from the ground. I glared down at him standing on the other side of the fence, a grin was plastered acrossed his face, his hazel eyes sparkled at the humor behind his own joke.
I threw my book bag over the fence aiming it at him. He ducked and it hit the ground beside him.
"Could you shut the hell up? I'm almost at the top!" I pushed myself up onto the top of the fence and swung my legs around onto the other side. Poor choice on my part; my stomach began to sink as I noticed how high the drop actually was. "Okay...I'm going to jump. Catch me alright?"

Toby gave me a look before nodding and holding up his arms. "Jump!"

I sighed and slid off the side of the fence, there was a minute I thought he'd catch me but that thought disappeared quickly when I landed on top of him...
I knocked him over on inpact causing him to fall backwards onto the grass. Opening my eyes slowly I lifted my head looking down at him. My cheeks flaming with embarrassment.
Awkward.
"I...Um...Are you okay? Did you hit your head?" I tried to push myself off of him but my hands slipped on the wet grass and I fell back onto him. The heat in my face intensifying as I remembered we hadn't come here alone.
His face broke into one of his classic one-dimple grins; it was unbelievably adorable. He pulled my face to his.
I guess that answered my question.
Our lips nearly touched before—
"EW CAN YOU TWO NOT?!" Xavier yelled, I turned to see him shaking his head in disgust. "That's nasty shit, that I don't need to see."

I rolled off Toby picked up a rock and chucked it at Xavier's head. He yelped in surprise and dodged out of the way before it made contact.
Two misses great..
I stood slowly making sure my sneakers wouldn't slip on the grass then turned to help my poor Toby up. He dusted off the back off his dark blonde hair and smiled.
"You're such a jerk Xavier. You're just jealous that you're still single." I rolled my eyes dramatically and elbowed him in the stomach. He laughed and brought his hand to his face, his laughter causing his dark brown hair to fall into his eyes. "I am the king of the jerks,"

The sound of the fence shuddering caught my attention, Jackson yelped as his caught foot came free of the fence, he fell onto his stomach.  Xavier laughed out and held his own stomach, "Jackson you idiot! That was less graceful than Jane and I didn't think that was possible!"
My hand flew to my mouth as I cringed. "Ohhhh shit...You okay man?"

He rolled onto his side and groaned. "I think I just lost a kidney.."
He coughed before standing up slowly, his breathing uneven. "I'll be fine though.." he picked up his backpack from where he had dropped it and pulled out his flashlight turned it on. As if testing the new batteries he had just put in it. I knew what he was actually doing—busying himself to distract from the pain.
Jackson was still Jackson, his black hair pushed back from his face, dark brown eyes studying his flashlight. Even in the dark you could tell his skin was kissed by the sun.

I turned my attention away from my obvious staring and turned to my other two friends.
"Where's Mikey...?"
"I'M HERE!" He yelled from the top of the fence. "I'm sorry I'm late...I was doing some research and-"
Xavier cut him off, his face full of a mix of shock and horror. "RESEARCH??? IT'S SUMMER!!"
I stuck my two fingers in my mouth and whistled, cutting off whatever bullshit was about to start between them. "Guys? are we going to go in or not?"
Toby pointed to the building behind us.  "C'mon lets go guys! I wanna see what creepy shit is possibly in there."
Mikey climbed down the fence slowly; He had clearly seen me and Jackson's falls. Obviously he didn't like the likelihood of spraining an ankle
He reached the bottom with no issue and gave us a weary look.
"Still guys...I meant by research I looked up the stories about this place. I'm not that much of a nerd...Anyway..Have any of you ever heard of the story about bite of 87?" He asked quietly, the tone of his voice dead serious.
"Oh that's just an old ghost story!" Xavier snorted slapping Mikey on the shoulder.
Mikey shook his head slowly as he stepped away from Xavier. "No...it isn't, I found a news article from when our parents where our age and—" Toby lifted a hand to shush him. "Was it on the internet Mikey?"
Mikey replied, "Yes but-"
"Then it's most likely NOT true," Jackson chipped in. "Let's go." he smiled, the excitement for this adventure plain on his face.
I guess I was excited too, though this was definitely illegal.
I shuddered slightly as I remembered Toby's father is a cop.

We had gotten into the old restaurant through a basement window, It was strangely left unlock...
That wasn't exactly safe, things could get stolen.. Like weren't they expecting to re-open this place? Bring back the pizzeria for a new generation of children to enjoy?
I slipped my book-bag off my shoulder; glancing around the dark, cluttered basement.
"This is so cool!" Toby exclaimed in a stage whisper.
He picked up an old costume head of the bear, he put it on his head and said "Hey boys and girls! it's time for the show!"
I laughed my nervousness about breaking and entering disappearing for a moment. "Really Toby?
He pulled it off laughing himself, "Oui Madame."

"OOOOH COOOOOOLLL!" Jackson's voice trailed from the corner of the room.
Xavier who had his head in a box looking around for any discovery looked up.
"What is it Jacks?"
"Guys I found something awesome..." Toby, Xavier and I walked over with our flashlights to see what the commotion was.
Jackson pointed his flashlight beam up as we got closer.
It was an animatronic!

"What are you guys looking at?" Mikey asked as he walked up behind us.
"An animatronic....it's old." Xavier gagged pointing at the holes and lack of wiring.
Mikey wrinkled his nose,  "Dude, it looks like a Chuck-E-Cheese's reject!"
Toby snorted, kicking it's foot. "True that. What's your opinion Jane?"
"It's kinda creepy." I stared at it. My anxiety slowly creeping back the longer I stared.
"Agreed," Xavier said as he flicked his flashlight on and off fidgeting.
"Do you guys want to leave here and check upstairs?" Jackson mumbled tearing his eyes from the creepy animatronic.
"Perhaps we'll even figure out the true secrets of Freddy Fazbear's!" Xavier laughed evilly from the corner.
Great, this was going to be a long night.
