Toby took a deep breath before putting on the Mascot's head. "How do I look?" He held his arms out, I knew what he was trying to do, make some light out of a dark situation.
"Creepy," I muttered not really up for jokes. Grabbing my bag, I slid it over my head not wanting to forget it this time.
"Hopefully these animatronics are stupid enough to believe you're one of them." Jackson grabbed the axe off the floor, he wanted to bring it with us for 'good measure' as he had stated. I personally thought the idea was ridiculous at this point.
Toby sighed, his voice partly muffled by the bear head, he was about as unsure about this plan as I was beginning to feel. "We can hope or I'm good as dead in this thing."
Jackson whipped around and glared at him. "You won't die, don't be absurd."
Toby did a little sarcastic jig. "Nananana everything's okay!"
His posture went back to slightly slouching, I could tell he was anxious about this.
"Better?" he asked trying to keep his tone sarcastic
I rolled my eyes at him. "Okay smart-ass, we need to get out of here. Preferably alive. Can you please work with me here?"
He sighed and then nodded. "Yes, I'll try my best."
"I love you.." I whispered.
"I love you too."
It unintentionally sounded like a goodbye, I didn't mean for it to.
Jackson looked at us with sad eyes, wrapping both of us into a hug. "Come on guys...we'll survive this..."
"Yeah.." I nodded slowly. I wasn't sure if all three of us would. I felt a nagging feeling one of us was going to die while we were trying to escape. I hope for the sake of what we had gone through tonight—that it would be me.We had made it up the stairs as quietly as possible, not wanting to attract the animatronic's attention quite yet.
It was completely silent in the pizzeria, about as peaceful as a graveyard in the middle of the night. I felt for my phone in my back pocket pulled it out.
No Signal
5:45am
So close to 6 am... I'm hoping the stories were true, that they'd just stop at 6am.
Jackson looked over at my phone his eyes widening with hope. I hoped everything would turn out alright."Okay..." Toby whispered and pointed towards the arcade. "The main exit's right through there. I'll be guarding your guy's backs as look out."
We turned the corner into the arcade and headed to the door. "It's all glass..." I grabbed the handle of the door and twisted it. It wouldn't budge like we thought...
I squatted down and looked at the lock. "Double sided lock, like I thought. It's for better security at night. I remember when my father's store was opened he had this installed as well."
I pulled a bobbi pin off the pad of paper in my pocket. I pulled the metal nail-file from the side pocket of my bag. "If this doesn't work push that arcade game hard and get it to smash through the window.."
Jackson looked down at the nail file and bobbi pin I was holding. "Could you be anymore of a girl?" He chuckled under his breath.
I growled as I began my attempt on picking the lock. "Could you be anymore of a pain in the ass?" I shot back, I turned my attention to him and glared. "Why are you so happy go lucky?"
His face broke into a wild smile, "Because we'll finally be able to get out of here."
I stared at him in disbelief before turning my attention back to the lock. Originally in the plan, Jackson was supposed to do it. However being the kind of girl I am, I didn't want him to break my nail-file.
The lock wouldn't budge.
"Goddammit." I stuck the file and bobbi pin back into my pocket.
I looked up at Jackson, "Go and push an arcade game into the window..." I looked at him with pleading eyes. "The lock won't budge at all."
He sighed, "Maybe you're doing it wrong. Let me try." He set the axe down beside him and took the nail file from my pocket.
"Uh guys..." Toby whispered in a small panic, "We have company..."
"QUICK JACKSON!" I stage whispered.
Jack dashed towards the closest arcade game pushed it hard enough that it should have smashed right through the glass.
It didn't.
It just bounced right off like the glass in the basement.
"FUCK!" I punched the glass in a sudden burst of rage. "It's bulletproof as well!"
I turned around to see the room now full with the animatronics. Toby standing still facing them, I could tell he wanted to run for his life.
It was all of them, Freddy, the rabbit, chicken and fox.
I felt as if my heart jumped into my throat as I practically fell back against the glass with Jackson, both of us looking at eachother as the fear bubbled up and began to consume us.
All of the Animatronics were frozen in place like statues. All of their eyes started to glow and flash as they played a song I didn't recognize, it almost sounded like a nursery rhyme.
Almost, it was off-key and painfully slow.
Almost like a death march, Jackson grabbed my hand. Squeezing it tightly.
We were going to die here.
