Jackson practically came crashing in into the room.
"Mike got back to me yesterday," the words tumbled out of his mouth.
I looked up at him from the book I was reading.
His facial expression seemed mixed between happy and concerned.
"And?" I replied quietly.
He tried to find the right words for a minute, before giving up and bluntly saying: "There seems to be an animatronic at Fazbear's Fright."
I stared at him, I really didn't like the plan he had in mind. However I do understand completely where he is coming from, We had to burn the place down once and for all to rid the world of it.
"And...?" I offered lamely.
He sighed. "And it seems like it's fairly intelligent, it was toying with Mike's friend Jeremy for the past few days. He called Mike in hyterics that he might not be able to continue working there. Mike went into detail and said Jeremy sounded like he was going to pee his pants."
I shook my head, setting the book on the coffee table
"I don't want to go back...I don't want you to either."
Jackson stared at me for a minute, his eyes pleading.
"We'll just go for one day, we won't even go inside, Alright?"I gave him a blank look, I honestly didn't want to go anywhere near the place nor whatever animatronic that was inside.
I did remember a news article while in the mental hospital about it. It stated that the animatronics were dismantled and sold for spare parts.
I don't know which one survived whole to be terrorising Jeremy, but I didn't want to know.
Jackson cleared his throat, "Jane did you hear me?"
I blushed slightly in shame, I hadn't. "Can you repeat what you said?"
He gave me a mildly irritated look,
"I said, 'We'll ask Mike to start the fire if that makes you feel better.'"
Oh..
I bit my lip and glanced down at the book on the coffee table. I didn't want to go, but I knew in my heart this was for Jackson's piece of mind. I decided now not to be selfish and let him have his form of closure.
"Alright.." I breathed. "We'll go back to our home town, but only for a day."
His face lit up in gratitude. I knew it would make him feel better to have closure finally.
I smiled at him, reaching over and patting his hand.
"Don't make me regret it Jackson."___________________________
Our day continued on as bleak as possible. I knew we'd be heading back to a place full of negative memories on Saturday. Long enough to give Mike a plan, witness it and then leave after it was completed.
I didn't want to be there longer then needed to be.
I distracted myself by doing things around the house, I even had a shower and did something with my hair for once.
Anything to distract myself from the huge thunder cloud of anxiety that this plan brings me.
I packed a bag of trail mix and bought waterbottles to put in the fridge for the drive.
It would be about 20-21 hour drive from where we live back to our hometown and I didn't want Jackson to have to stop to get me food every hour down the interstate.
Jackson was surprised when he got home, because I was fully dressed for the first time in a month; last time I had was the day we went to the park.
Though I hadn't washed my hair then, just put on a hat and prayed for the best.
He studied me with disbelief. His hand coming forward and tugging on the end of my long, brushed hair. "Jane are you sickly?"
"No," I answered instantly. "I've just been full of anxious energy and I ran out of things to do, so I showered and got dressed. Problem?" I glared at him.
He put his hands up defensively, his eyes widening. "No, just a little surprised is all." He laughed. That night I was having more issues than normal falling asleep. No matter what position I turned my body into, nothing was comfortable.
I howled in frustration.
Hearing the commotion I was making, Jackson poked his head in and looked at me sympathetically. "Can't sleep?" he asked quietly.
I nodded and kept trying to find a comfortable position to lay.
"Ugh!" I punched my pillow.
"Jane stop moving I'm trying to get into bed with you."
I stopped crossing my arms over my chest and glancing at him.
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me towards him, as soon as my head hit his chest I know now why I had a problem. He was apart of my bed. I needed him.
Laying there; listening to his heart beat.
I soon fell asleep."Toby?" I called out to him, his dark blonde hair shining in the faint light of the empty room. "Toby!" I called again, He wouldn't turn. God please turn around Toby.
"Toby?!"
I tried to walk towards him, but every step felt like being pushed back two. I was farther from him than I started. I tried to run but instead I tripped then fell.
I fell down a hole into a dark abyss.
I landed on a pile of fox plush toys and looked around the semi dark room.
Toby stood next to me; his face pulled into a classic one dimple smile.
"Are you okay Jane?"I looked away from Toby, I got a real good look at my surroundings, we were in the Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. In the party room.
"Toby, why are we here..?" I grabbed one of the plush toys staring at it. "Why here of all places?"
"Because we climbed threw the window?" He laughed nervously,
"Are you alright Jane?"
"I escaped here. Only me and Jackson survived."
Toby's face began distorting and changing. I stared in horror as he turned into Xavier.
"Jane you're such a clutz! Good thing there was that pile of stuffed animals to catch you when you tripped!" he snorted.
"I didn't trip, I fell down a hole." I replied,
Xavier disappeared as if he were never here at all. Leaving me alone in this semi lit room.
"Jane, I don't like it here." Mikey's voice floated out of the darkness.
But it was wrong, the sound of his voice off; sounding...animatronic. I jumped up from the stuffed animals, feeling the need to flee this place.
"J-Jane! Stay a while." Toby's voice came from behind me, but it too was off.
I slowly turned to face him, he was half-man half-animatronic. The rabbit ears sticking out of his crushed skull.
I began to scream in horror."Jane!" Jackson had me pinned to the mattress as I came to, tears began to well up in my eyes as I stared up at him.
"I had a bad dream.." I began to sob as Jackson pulled me into a hug.
