The hotel was a modest six stories high, but it didn't keep the building from being very large and tall in height. It had a modern exterior that utilized bricks, and the interior appeared to have undergone a major renovation.
Lucky: "Oh cool, a store built into the lobby"
Rusty: "Not cool when you see the price of soft drinks, $10 for a Coke, no thanks"
The lobby was hectic with everyone scrambling to the elevators, racing to be the first to their rooms. Everyone was handed two room keys, and the groups would elect their leaders in charge of keeping up with them. Bluey, Chloe, Indy, and Coco elect Chloe their leader, while Mackenzie, Lucky, Rusty, and Jack chose Rusty.
Mackenzie
After over five minutes of waiting, it was finally the boys' turn to ride the elevator to their 'home' for the next two nights. They piled in with another group, with some other boy's whom they did not recognize. The elevator couldn't have been any slower and for teenage dogs, it was one of the hardest things in the world to stay patient.
Mackenzie: "Any day now"
Jack: "I wish it could hurry up, I need to go to bed bad"
Once on their floor, the group exited, and began to venture for their room.
Rusty: "Well guys, this is it our room"
Lucky: "Now let's hurry up and get in"
Rusty began to fervently swipe the key card over the unorthodox circular lock until a green light lit up, and the boys began to push the heavy door.
Mackenzie: "Wow, this place is nice"
Rusty: "There's even a tv!"
Inside the room there was a bathroom to the right, with a narrow hallway leading to the main room, which consisted of two big sized beds, and a closet with a mini-fridge. The tv sat in the middle of the beds, with a large window overlooking the street at the end of the room.
Rusty: "Well now, we have to decide who's sleeping with who"
Lucky: "Don't make it weird Rusty, just say who's sharing beds"
Rusty: "Ok, who's sharing beds with who"
Jack: "How about me and Rusty, and Mackenzie and Lucky"
Mackenzie: "Works for me"
Rusty: "Any opposition?"
And there was none, so the boys went along with their activities, Rusty was straightening up, attempting to be responsible, Lucky was already plotting to sneak out at night, Mackenzie turning on sports on the tv, and Jack of course hitting the hay.
Jack: "Night guys, see you in the morning"
And with that at 11:30 at night the first of the boys was asleep
Mackenzie: "That's one down, how bout we make it a competition to see who can stay up the longest?"
Obviously Lucky agreed with his competitive nature, and Rusty obliged, not wanting to appear wimpy.
The first thing Lucky did was visit other people's rooms. He went to Snicker's room where they were playing Nintendo Switch on the tv.
Lucky: "Yo, how'd you get Nintendo?"
Winton: "I brought it, and we were able to hook it up using..."
Lucky: "Ok, I get the gist"
Pretzel was racing Snickers in Mario Kart with Pretzel seemingly having the upper hand.
Lucky: "Well see you guys later, I'm going down to get some coffee"
The dust had finally settled, and Lucky was able to go down the elevator with no problem, and head to the store he was admiring earlier. He purchased an overpriced iced coffee and a pack of fruit gummies, and headed back to the room to flex his snacks on Mackenzie and Rusty.
Mackenzie: "Bro, why do you have an iced coffee, I thought you hated that type of stuff"
Lucky: "Gonna need this caffeine to win this challenge"
Rusty: "You guys take this way too seriously, I'm going to bed, and I'll see you guys in the morning"
And then there were two.
—------------------
Mackenzie: U ever make it to the room
Bluey: Eventually
Mackenzie: Me and Lucky are having a challenge to see who can stay up the latest
Bluey: I got my money on u kenz 🤑
Mackenzie: thx
Mackenzie: how's your group
Bluey: Honestly kinda boring but it'll be better when we're recharged tomorrow
Mackenzie: I just had an idea to make it more fun 😏
Bluey: ayo
Mackenzie: wait, wrong emoji, i didn't mean it that way
Mackenzie: my non-weirdo idea is that me and Lucky prank call your room and act like Coach Boxer. It'll freak the other's out
Bluey: alright that'll be fun
—------------------
Mackenzie: "Lucky, wanna prank-call the girls"
Lucky: "Alright, what are we thinking?"
Mackenzie: "Lets act like Coach Boxer and freak them out, by acting like they're in trouble"
Lucky: "Bet"
After a successful prank call, in which Bluey had said they all looked like they had seen a ghost, everyone got a text on their phones not to make anymore prank calls. Mackenzie and Lucky died of laughter.
Mackenzie: "Honestly, now I'm bored, I'm just gonna let you win and take the L, goodnight"
And with Mackenzie's surrender, Lucky had won and been the last one standing. He could finally go to bed, and not rely on caramel iced coffee anymore.
Bluey
Bluey had made sure to set an alarm before bed so they would be ready on time for the jam-packed day. With the other girls reluctant to get up, Bluey took advantage, and was able to get all the hot-water from the shower.
Indy: "I can't believe we got pranked last night"
Coco: "I bet it was those stupid boys"
Chloe: "If it was who I think it was, then I'm never letting Lucky hear the end of this"
Indy: "Anyways, what time can we go down for breakfast?"
Chloe: "I think Coach said 7:30, and it's 7:06 now, so we'll just have to wait a few minutes"
After passing time with a little bit of gossip, the girls headed down to breakfast a few minutes early, in an attempt to beat the crowd.
Coco: "Looks like we got here just in time"
Food was just being served as the girls entered the lobby where the breakfast was. It was like its own little restaurant with booths, tables, and everything. And the best part about hotel breakfast is that it is complementary. The offerings included pancakes, sausage, eggs, muffins, yogurt, biscuits, fruit, and more. Anything a teenage dog could think of for a perfect breakfast. Bluey got pancakes, Chloe chose cereal, and Indy and Coco both got a good mix of everything there was to offer.
And so, the girls ate their breakfast preparing for a long day of adventure in Townsville.
