Chapter Thirty Three

The next morning.

We had stayed up talking until about 5. The birds were singing, I had woken up on Alec's chest, the baby monitor remained quiet. I got up and decided to make three bottles before they all woke up. I then put the bottles in our bedroom. Alec was asleep on the far side. I walked in to the babies room and started moving them one by one in to our bed. Once they were all moved, I climbed in to the bed next to Colton who remained asleep. I closed my eyes and soon I drifted off back to light sleep.

Some time later I was woken up to Eli's babbles. Alec smiled as he looked down, I handed him Eli's bottle. Alec propped Eli in to his arm which was on the pillow, he used his other hand to feed Eli his bottle. Soon after Colton woke up, I done the same with him, I propped him abit straighter so that he could bring up wind easier. Chloe remained asleep as Colton drank his bottle. Colton bought up his wind and then he fell back asleep, I moved Chloe over and I placed Colton between a sleeping Eli and a now woken up Chloe, I grab her bottle and begin feeding her, she smiles, I knew she had wind so I rubbed her back until she burped, she smacked her pink lips and the fluttered her eye lids, we hadn't opened the curtains so the room was still dark. I heard the light snores of Alec, Eli, Colton and Chloe, I soon closed my eyes and drifted in to a sleep.

I heard the bedroom door open so I sat up. Luca walked in. I put my finger over my lips, Luca nods his head. I climb out of bed slowly not waking any of them. I then tip toe out the room pushing Luca out as I do so. I close the door and we head downstairs.

"We rung the buzzer a few times, no one answered. Sylvester said I could come up." Luca said. "Where's River?" I ask. "In the living room." Luca says. I notice Luca was wearing a suit, so was River. "Special occasion?" I ask. "Actually, A custody case." Luca says rubbing his neck nervously. "I was wondering could you come, you know as support, for me and River?" Luca asks. "Sure, let me go get something on and tell Alec." I say. I run up stairs and tip toe in the bedroom. I quickly shower and I get dressed, I put on a black smart dress and a pair of low heels. I walk in to the bedroom, Alec was sitting there, the kids all asleep. "I'm going to go to that custody case with Luca okay." I say to him, Alec nods his head. "Sure give me a call after. Could you do me a favor and switch the kettle on." Alec says, I smile and nod, I kiss his cheek then each of the kids, not waking them up of course. I leave the room then I head down stairs, I switch the kettle on and then I walk in to the hall way. Luca and River stood there. "Ready?" He asks, I nod my head.

We sat in the room, River sat between me and Luca, the door opened, a lady with a round belly and emerald green eyes walked in. She sat opposite us, she looked down at River whose eyes mirrored the same emotion, pain. "Mom?" River says. "Let's get this meeting started." The judge says.

After both of them spoke the judge paused for a moment. "After careful consideration, Mr Royal is on Rivers' birth certificate, Ms Lupe you do understand that you have no parental right of the child, River Royal." The judge says, I hold River's hand. "However the only way this can be resolved is what the child wants." The judge says looking at River. "I'm right here." I say to River, he jumps off the chair and runs to the stand, he climbs up. "Now River how old are you?" The judge asks. "Four tomorrow." River says proudly. "Well happy birthday for tomorrow, River you understand how serious this is right." The judge says, River nods his head. "Now River, who would you like to permanently live with." The judge asks. "My daddy." River says looking directly at Luca, Luca beams and jumps up out of his seat, River jumps down and begins running towards Luca. Luca lifts him in to a tight hug. "I would of never let you go." Luca says to River. River holds tight of Alec, I smile. "You have your answer." The judge says banging his hammer.
