Chapter Forty

~ Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things~

The Next Day

"Babe." Alec says walking in to the bedroom carrying Colton. "Yeah?" I say with a smile, I was laying in bed, Chloe was asleep next to me. "You've got to come and meet the new family. They want to meet the Luna." Alec says. I smile. "Sure." I say. "Great, you get dressed and I'll sort out the twins." He says. "What about Leah?" I ask. He smiles. "I'm sure she has better things to do, I'll leave her a set of car keys so she doesn't have to be in the house." Alec says. "Okay." I say getting out of my bed, I walk over to the bathroom and I quickly shower.

Once I was dressed I carried a dressed Colton down the stairs and I put his coat on him. "Alec are you ready?" I call up the stairs. "Yeah I'm coming now." He says. I hear Leah's door open and she stands at the top of the stairs. "We'll be back soon, we've got to meet a new family." Alec says standing behind her. "Sure." She says with a smile, Alec goes in his pocket and hands her a set of car keys. "We can meet for lunch." I say smiling at Leah. "Sure." She says smiling back. Alec walks down the stairs carrying a now dressed Chloe. Alec opens the front door and he walks to the car, he straps Chloe in her seat, I walk to the other side and I strap Colton in. I kiss his head and I close the door. Once in I waited for Alec to start the engine. I felt the vibration of my phone and I quickly answered it without checking the screen. "Hello." I say. "Mommy." Eli cries. "What's wrong?" I ask him. "Can you pick me up?" He asks. "What about Jett?" I ask. "Jett wants to stay, Bolt said it's okay." He says. "Okay we're coming now." I say. "Okay hurry." He sniffs. "What's wrong?" Alec asks as he get's in. "Eli want's to come home." I sigh. "Okay we'll pick him up now." Alec says starting the engine. He pushes the handbrake down and begins driving to Bolton's.

We pulled up outside Bolton's and Alec honked his horn. The door swung open and Eli ran out the door towards the car. "Where's Bolt?" Alec asks him. "They left to go to the water park." Eli says opening the door, Hailey stood by the door. "He wanted to come home." She says smiling. "I'll call you later." I say with a smile. "Okay." She says shutting the front door, Alec shuts Eli's door and starts the engine again. "Where are we going?" Eli asks. "To the pack house, me and mommy have a few things to do, you can go play with the other kids." Alec says to Eli, he smiles and nods his head. "Okay." Eli says with a smile.

The pack houses door was open when we arrived. The kids played soccer on the grassy lawn. Alec drove his car past them. "Hey guys it's Alpha Alec!" A boy called picking up the football, the rest stopped and began chasing the car until Alec stopped outside the house. "Hi Alpha, Hi Luna" A Boy said coming to the window. "Hi." We both say smiling. "How's the babies ma'am?" Another boy asked. "They're fine." I say smiling as I climb out the car. I walked round to the back and lifted out Colton. "He's gotten so big." The boy said walking closer towards us. "I know." I say smiling. Alec lifted out Chloe and Eli climbed out from behind. "Alec we've been looking after the newbies." An older boy said walking out from the door. "Thanks Todd, will you show them to the office, tell them my wife and I will be right there." Alec says smiling. Eli was speaking with the other kids. "Daddy can I go play now?" Eli asks. "Not yet Eli, I want you to meet the new members." Alec says smiling. "Okay daddy." Eli says pushing his hands in to his pockets. "I'll be right out guys." Eli says smiling as he follows us in to the house. "Remember little Nicky?" Alec says as he carries Chloe, I smile as I remember exactly who he was talking about. "Nicholas?" I say with a smirk, Alec nods his head. "He was adopted last week by the Michael's." Alec says as we walk towards his office. "Really?" I say smiling. Alec nods his head. Nicholas was one of the orphan pups that Alec found him a few months ago, he had no name and no recollection of his family, no one came looking for him so Alec took him to the pack house, Alec settled him in with one of the nannies and we hoped he would get a family before christmas, he was such a lovely boy. "Angela and Nate right?" I say to Alec, he nods his head. "They've got a little girl now, Nate wanted her to have an older brother." Alec says as we turn right. "How cute, it's about time." I say smiling. "Tilly!" Eli say as he spots a little girl ahead, she had a pink flowing dress on, she held a brown bear tightly. "Eli!" She calls as she runs towards us. She freezes when she spots Alec. "Um. Hello. Alpha." She says shyly. "Hello Tilly." Alec says with a smile. She looks over at me, her face flushed red. "Hello. Luna." She says bowing her head. I smile, her cheeks were bright pink. "Hello Tilly." I say smiling. "Are you coming to play Eli?" She asks him. Eli smiles. "Soon Tilly, I've just got to say hi to some people." Eli says. "Shall I wait?" She asks him. "Sure." He says smiling. "Come on Eli." Alec calls as we waited by the office door. "Bye Tilly." Eli waves as he runs to catch up to us. Alec opens the office door, Todd and I assume they were the family Alec wanted me to meet. "Jeff, Miranda this is my wife Olivia and the luna." Alec says smiling. Colton had fallen asleep in my arms. "Nice to meet you." I say with a smile. "No the pleasure's all ours, your husband has been more than kind to us." Miranda says smiling, she was a red head, she was slim and tall, her eyes bright green. Her smile was dazzling. Her husband Jeff was a tall muscular man, he had dark brown hair and brown eyes. "He's a kind man." I say smiling up at him, Alec winks. "Are these your children?" I ask, she had four children. Three boys and One girl. Miranda smiles. "Yes these are our children. Ty, Evie, Max and Alfie." Miranda says smiling as she points to her children. "Ty's 19, Evie is 16 Max is 12 and Alfie is 2." Jeff says smiling. "Are these yours?" Miranda says looking over at us. "This is Eli and these are the twins Colton and Chloe. We have one more, Jett. He's with Olivia's cousin." Alec says smiling. "I'm two 2." Eli says smiling. "Cool." Alfie says smiling. "Mommy can I go play with Tilly now?" Eli asks smiling. I chuckle. "Sure sweetie." I say smiling. "Alfie do you wanna come to?" Eli asks. "Can I mommy?" Alfie asks. "As long as you don't go to far." Miranda says smiling. "I won't mommy." Alfie says jumping off the sofa. Alec opens the door for Eli so that they could leave. "You guys don't have to be here, why don't you take a trip around town, I'm sure you'll enjoy what's around." I say smiling. "Okay." The boy who I assumed was Ty said smiling. "Bye Alpha Alec, Bye Luna Olivia, seeya Mom, dad." They all say leaving. Alec hands him a pair of keys. "There's a blue bmw in the garage, I take it you don't want to walk." Alec says with a smile, Ty grins. "Dad, we've got to stay here." Ty says smiling. "Thank you Alpha Alec." Evie says fluttering her eyelashes. Alec smiles as they all walk out. I lay Colton down on the empty Sofa, Alec sat Chloe next to him. We both sat at the table opposite Miranda and Jeff. I smiled. "So I guess Alec has told you about our background?" Miranda asks. I shake my head. "Actually he hasn't I was hoping to hear it from you." I say smiling. "Well my family and I came from the Silver Peak pack, they were an elite mountain top pack, when I say were I mean before they got invaded with rouges, they wiped out every one out, we barely got out. We got separated from eachother, it was tough. But we made it out. We've been running, but there's only so much we can do. Especially with a two year old." Miranda says with a small smile. "Well you are welcome to stay as long as you want. There's many schools which the children can go to, local colleges and so on. There's a lot you can do round here, you won't feel bored." I say smiling. Miranda smiles. "And what about me?" Jeff says. "Well if you want, you could join our pack, we can offer you and all your children training, it's essential for our pack, they can train as soon as their first shift." Alec says smiling. "Is that what you've done." Jeff asks Alec. "As soon as Jett shifted he was already a powerful kid, he went to train with the elders of the pack, We offer training for all ages." Alec says. "And what are the age boundaries?" Miranda asks. "The children are separated depending on the age, as they grow they will change group and learn to fight different." Alec says smiling. "And what about homing? We can't all live in a pack house." Jeff says with a smile. "You can meet with the real estate agent, I'm pretty sure there's new houses on the market. I could give her a call now if you want?" Alec says leaning over to the phone. "If you could that would be amazing." Miranda says with a smile. "Okay if you could just bear with me." Alec says as he dials a number. "Kathy." Alec says with his Alpha tone. "Is there pre-schools, It's just in out old pack there wasn't any." Miranda says with a smile. "Yes, my son Eli goes to the pre-school in town, the manager is Jay, once Alec is finished I could get him to set up schools for the kids." I say, Miranda beams. "Thank you both." She says with a smile. "Okay, great Kathy that's fine. See you soon." Alec says hanging up. "Kathy will be over shortly, she will show you the houses." Alec says with a smile. "Alec could you sort schools." I say with a small smile. "Yes Jay's for Alfie and Brookmead Valley School for Evie and Max." Alec says with a nod. As he begins dialing the number for Jay's. "What's Brookmead Valley like if you don't mind me asking?" Miranda asks. "It's a private school, based on each individual child." Alec says with a smile. "Hello Jay." He says quickly. We stay silent once again. "Mama." Chloe calls from the chair, I smile and stand up walking towards her, I lifted her in to my arms and carried her back to the chairs. "She looks exactly like her dad." Miranda says with a smile. "Thank god." Alec chuckles, I nudge his rib. "Not you Jay" He says laughing, Miranda and Jeff giggle. "How old are they?" Miranda asks me. "One." I say with a smile. "How adorable, what about Jett?" She asks. "He's Four." I say with a proud smile. Miranda beams. "That's adorable." She says proudly. "Okay Jay bye." Alec says hanging up the phone. "She said that Alfie will be able to start on Monday, I'll write the address down and you can go and check it out." Alec says with a smile. "Thank you so much." Miranda says with a smile. Alec picks up the phone again, he dials a number and put's it to his ear. "Hello Jackie, it's Alpha Alec, can I speak to Tanya." Alec says. "Great thanks." He says with a smile. He waits for atleast a second. "Hello Tanya, I've got some new pupils for the school." Alec says with a smile. "How long have you been together?" Miranda asks. "Two, almost three years." I say smiling. Miranda looks at me confused. "I found my mate when I was 16, he took my virginity and rejected me, I left only to find out I was pregnant with Jett. I came back when Jett was two, I found out that the guy who was my mate who is an Alpha aswell mated with one of my friends and their son was born two days after my son." I say. "So Alec was like your second chance." Miranda says. "Alec is my second chance." I say with a smile. "Thank you Tanya, Bye." He says hanging up. "They start on monday, they have to go to the admission to get their time tables." Alec says. He pauses. The door knocks. "Come in." He says. "Daddy Kathy's here." Eli says as he walks in followed by Kathy and Alfie. "Do they have to go?" Eli asks sadly. "Yeah, they have to get settled in. Alfie's got pre-school soon." Alec says with a smile. "At jays?" Eli asks happily, Alec nods his head. "Cool, see you then." Eli says giving Alfie a Hi-5. Alec finishes writing on the paper. "I've put both our numbers at the bottom so if you need anything." Alec says handing it to them. "Thank you for all your help Alec." Miranda and Jeff say with a grateful smile. "What about the car?" Jeff asks. "Keep it." Alec says with smile. "You don't have to." Jeff says. "It's not a problem." Alec says with a smile. "Thank you so much Alpha Alec, It was a pleasure meeting you Olivia." Miranda says smiling. I walk over to Colton and I lift him up, Alec lifts up Chloe, we showed Miranda, Jeff and Alfie the way out. "I know this is ridiculous request but maybe we can go for coffee, or arrange a play date for Alfie and Eli." Miranda says with a smile. "That sound's great." I say smiling back. We walk towards the front of the house. "Mommy can we show them around the town?" Eli asks looking up at me. "Let's give them a chance to settle in first." Alec says smiling. "Okay daddy." Eli says with a smile. "If you want Eli, you can come round later for tea?" Miranda says smiling. Eli grins. "Sounds lovely. Catch you later Alfie!" Eli calls as he runs back in to the house. "Not to far Eli!" I call as he runs out the door. "Catch you later Eli!" Alfie shouts. "It was a pleasure meeting you all." I say with a smile. We shake hands and we part ways. "They were nice." I say as we walk in to the house. "Mommy mommy!" Eli calls running from the garden. "What is it Eli?" I say putting Colton on the sofa. I quickly follow behind him. He leads me a bush, Eli pointed in to the bush. "Look mommy, a baby." He says. Laying in the mud, wrapped in a blue blanked was a beautiful blonde haired little boy, he had no clothes on, he slept peacefully. "Did you see anyone near the bush?" I asked him. "No mommy. My ball went over in the forest. I found him mommy." Eli says proudly smiling. "He must be cold." Eli says. "Let's get him inside and warm then okay?" I say lifting up the baby out of the mud, he was dirty and he smelled pretty bad. We walked inside the house. "What was wrong?" Alec asks as we walk inside. "We found a baby daddy." Eli says pulling Alec towards us. "Did you check if he was hurt?" Alec asks. I shake my head. "I wanted to get him out the mud. We're going to clean him off and see if one of the nannies have room for him." I say smiling. "NO!" Eli says stamping his foot. "Eli." Alec snaps. "Sorry mommy." Eli says quieter. "Do you have something to say Eli?" I ask him. "I do mommy, I don't want him to go to a nanny, I want us to take care of him." Eli says smiling. I look over at Alec. "Eli don't you think we have enough babies?" Alec says kneeling down. "But another one won't hurt." Eli whines. "Eli." I say. "Fine." He huffs, Mira walked down the stairs with a smile. "Hi Alpha, Luna, Little Eli." She says with a smile. "Mira, can you do me a favor and watch the kids." I say smiling, she grins. "Sure where are the twins?" She asks me. "I'll take you to them." Eli says taking Mira's hand. "You have smooth hands." Eli giggles while he pulls her in to the living room.

"He has always had a crush on Mira." Alec chuckles as he holds a yellow blanket, the baby was in the bath, I washed him off. "I know, He's gotta stop." I chuckle. Alec smiles. I lift the baby out and I hand him to Alec, Alec wraps him in the towel and we carry him out. "So how old do you think he is?" Alec asks me. "No more than a month old." I say putting powder on him, the baby opens his eyes, they were bright green, almost emerald. He blinked a few times, adjusting his eyes to the light. Alec looks down at him while I look up at Alec. "Could you pass me some clothes for him." I say looking at Alec, he smiles. "Sure, Once we've finished up here we can take him down to the doctors, get him checked out." Alec says walking over to the cupboard he passes me a diaper and a vest, he then hands me a baby grow. "Thanks. We'll need an extra car seat." I say to Alec, he smiles and nods his head. "I'll go get it ready." He says walking out the room leaving me alone with the baby. "So where did you come from." I say talking to him, his eyes were big as he squirmed around babbling. "Are we keeping him mommy?" Eli asks walking in the bedroom. "I don't know." I say looking over my shoulder at Eli.

We arrived at the doctors. "Right this way Alpha Alec." The nurse says leading us to the office of Issac. Alec opens the door, Issac was sat at his desk, he spun on his chair and smiled. "Well if it isn't my favourite family." He says grinning. "Hi Issac." Eli says sitting on the waiting chair, Alec put Colton and Chloe on the seats next to Eli, they both sat there with a wide grin. "My, look how big they've both got!" Issac says walking towards the twins. I smiled proudly. "What can I do for you today?" Issac asks walking towards us, he freezes as he spots the baby. "What do we have here?" He asks lifting his glasses a little. "I found him Issac!" Eli shouts from the chair. "Found him? Really?" Issac says taking the baby from my arms. "He was wrapped in a blue blanket in a bush." I say standing by Alec. "Who would leave a baby." Issac says walking over to his chair. "So do you know the baby?" Alec asks. "Actually, I do, his mother Taja Pearce gave birth to him here in this hospital almost five weeks ago she left a few hours after he was delivered, she came back regularly to his baby appointments but I haven't seen her in almost a while, she was alone during his birth and she had no visitors after" Issac says. "So what's the baby's name?" Eli asks. "Mason." Issac says, the baby squeals in delight. "Do you know where we could find Taja?" Alec asks. "I could bring up her files. She doesn't live to far." Issac says clicking a few buttons on his computer. "Does that mean the baby has to go home?" Eli asks. "Yes it does." Alec says smiling.

Eli pouts on his way back to the car. "Cheer up sport." Alec says as he straps the twins in. "But I don't want to take him back." Eli whines. "We are going to see if his mom is okay, you however are going to nana's with the twins." Alec says making sure Eli's belt was secure. I don't want to! I hate Nanna!" Eli shouts kicking the seat. "Eli Lincoln Royal." I snap. "Sorry." He huffs crossing his arms. Alec closes the door and climbs in the front and starts the engine. "We're going to drop them to my mom's her flight got in early." Alec says as he begins to drive. "Is she going to be okay with that?" I ask. Alec smiles. "Of course." He says turning right on to her road. "You wait out here, if we both go in she'll talk forever if we both go in." Alec chuckles, he carries the twins and undoes Eli. "Be good." I call to Eli. "If you do when we pick you up i'll take you to the diner." Alec says ruffling his hair. Eli smiles and he waves as they disappear in to the house. Moments later Alec returns climbing in the car. He climbs in and closes the door. "Let's go." He says starting the engine. We pull from the curb and he begins driving to Taja's house.

We pulled up outside, the house looked empty. "Maybe she's in there." Alec says jumping out the car. "Stay here." He says closing the door, he walks to the door and pulls the handle down, it opens and he disappears inside. He reappears again. "No one's home, the house is completely empty. Taja's gone." He says. "What are we going to do?" He asks climbing in the car. "I don't know." I sigh. Alec gives me a small smile. "Are you even sure, do you know how much hard work this will be." I say looking at him. He smiles. "I've always wanted a big family, like I did. Christmas was always great." He says smiling. I smile. "I'm sure Eli will be happy about it." Alec says squeezing my hand. I turn around and I look over at Mason, He laid peacefully, his green eyes sparkled brightly. "Fine." I say looking at him. "We can't let him be alone on his first Christmas, even if he may not remember it." Alec says smiling. We drive back home.

Once inside the house we began decorating and we spent the time preparing the house for Christmas eve tomorrow.
