In the middle of the night, Luz is awakened from her sleep by an angelic voice.
Voice: Human, wake up!
Luz: What?? It's only midnight, what's the big deal?
Luz is grumpy.
Voice: Human, get up, there's no time, let's go!
Luz reluctantly gets up and sees a Wolf Soul. Its name is Vox.
Luz: Who are you?
Vox: There's no time to explain! You gotta go!
Luz: But-
Vox: Nobody is home. You're on your own. Orange is in trouble, Emperor Belos has him cornered. You have to go, follow!
Luz: Fine.
Suddenly, Vox disappears and Luz is sent into a range of emotions: Shock, disbelief, confusion and concern.
Luz: I think I was hallucinating...Oh well, I'm thirsty, I'm going to the river and drink up a little, just to recover from the shock.
And she does just that. Luz shifts into her wolf form, goes to the river in the garden and starts drinking. She seems to recover just fine, until she sees blood on the water. Luz backs away 5 steps in fear, while remembering Vox's words.
Luz: That Wolf Soul was right! Absolutely right...
Luz runs towards the blood scent. The more she follows, the scent gradually becomes stronger and stronger. After a few miles of running, she stops to the point at where a slight blood trail is seen and a few subordinate wolves like the Wolfwalkers, the Farlanders and the Kirins. Also frightened pack members and on top of that, Orange's wounded corpse! Luz trots backwards in fear, until she hears yelling. Luz trots towards the source of the sound and finds herself in front of a waterfall and a pond.
Guard Captain (male): Back down and get out of my face, Asha!
Asha: You're delusional, Guard Captain! I would never, NEVER do anything to hurt Orange!! YOU ATTACKED HIM FOR NO REASON!!
Guard Captain (male): Yeah? Well, you're both gonna be next if you don't keep your muzzle shut!
Syana is right next to Asha, sharing an angry look at the Guard Captain.
