I hated coming to this side of town. A lot of times I had to remind myself that this used to be my hood. I used to run barefoot up and down these streets with my badass sister. Well, cousin by blood but sister by heart. And the only person that I would come back here for.

She was at a New Year's day party that one of our old friend's was throwing, and practically conned me into coming. I wasn't complaining though, I got a get off of work free card for a whole month because of this. You see, she's convincing but I drive a hard bargain. I was basically the front runner of our fashion line Marcellus, while she got to do all of the traveling and handling our national, and international affairs.

The line was doing so well since last spring that I just got caught up in my work, and by the time I looked up it was New Years. I could use a break, and now that I was able to purchase me a new home I was going to do just that. Tomorrow.

But for tonight, I'd enjoy myself.

Some old friends, I liked to keep as old friends but Kim kept in contact with everybody. This was a long time coming anyway I'd been dodging everyone for years now. Our friend Vincent, but everyone called him Vince was a well known drug dealer in the area. He wasn't ruthless or anything he just liked to have fun. And he's good at what he does.

He was really a good guy, and a good friend but I just didn't want to be around anything that could affect me being able to run my business. "Tight ass." Kim always calls me, and I guess she could be right. I can act like a little bitch sometimes, but they wasn't ever gone know that.

I wore an oversized red leather jacket, with a gorgeous silver shimmery bralette, and a choker for the top half. Paired with ripped white high wasted shorts, and beautiful lace up red thigh high boots I felt like I was the shit. My long black hair was pulled into a high ponytail to show off my big hoop earrings, and red lipstick.

If I was gonna come back to my old stomping grounds, I was gone do it right. Fashion was always something that I excelled in so I didn't care if the party was casual or not I would show up looking my best. It was expected.

As I reached the door, I lifted my hand to knock but it swung open before I could even do it. "Jade!" A bunch of people stood in the door, and hollered my name. Vincent, and Kim being the first two people that I see. Vincent barely giving me time to register who I'm looking at before snatching me up into a death gripping hug.

"Where the hell you been? Acting like you can't kick it with nobody nomore!" He practically yelled, at me and I instantly felt bad. I could have cut off everybody else, but Vince? He was the only one who would really have you if some shit popped off. "I'm sorry Vince! I been w-"

"I been working! Blah, blah, blah. Kim makes time so you ain't go no excuses. Get yo ass in there for you freeze to death!" He scolded me like the crazy person he was, but it was cold so I listened. "Baby girl, I missed you so much!" Kim hollered squeezing me into yet another bone crushing hug like she didn't just see me hours ago.

"GIrl, you just saw me!" I laughed as she let me go, and shrugged. "So, you my favorite little sister. I can miss you if I want to." She shrugged, and I just smiled at how adorable she could be sometimes. Although this side of her was only reserved for me. I liked it that way. Although I was pretty sure she was a little tipsy already.

A few more of our friends pulled me into hugs, and I spoke with some of them for a while before  finally walking away, and finding who I came here to be with. "You look sexy as hell Jade, I knew you was gone come through." Kim said as soon as I reached her. She smiled taking in my outfit as I finally took in hers. She wore a white oversized sweater dress with brown thigh high boots, and her hair in a big curly bun on the top of her head. She seemed so casual yet elegant.
