Misha Collins was never comfortable around needles. Even at the sight of one, his heart would race, and he would feel a wave of anxiety wash over him. He had managed to avoid needles for most of his adult life, but now he had no choice. He was sick, and the doctor had prescribed him a shot.
Misha sat nervously on the examination table, his hands shaking. He tried to distract himself by reading a magazine, but he couldn't focus. All he could think about was the needle.
The nurse came in and asked him to roll up his sleeve. Misha's heart rate doubled, and he started to feel lightheaded. He couldn't do it. He tried to explain to the nurse that he was scared of needles, but she didn't seem to understand.
Misha's anxiety turned into panic, and he started to hyperventilate. The nurse left the room to get the doctor, and Misha was left alone, shaking and sweating.
The doctor came in and tried to calm Misha down. He explained that the shot was necessary for his recovery and that it would only hurt for a moment. But Misha couldn't listen. He was too afraid.
The doctor realized that Misha needed a different approach. He asked Misha to lie down on the table and close his eyes. He talked to him in a soothing voice, telling him to take deep breaths and focus on something else.
Misha closed his eyes and tried to relax. He imagined himself on a beach, feeling the warm sun on his skin and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. He tried to forget about the needle.
The doctor was gentle as he administered the shot. Misha felt a slight pinch, but it was over before he knew it. He opened his eyes, surprised that it was already done.
The doctor praised Misha for his bravery and offered him a lollipop. Misha smiled weakly, feeling a little embarrassed by his fear.
As he left the doctor's office, Misha felt relieved that it was over. He knew that he would still be scared of needles, but he also knew that he had faced his fear and come out the other side.
And as he unwrapped the lollipop and took a bite, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the doctor's patience and understanding.
