Instead of buying her Halloween costume of the rack Madison decided to put her creativity to use and up-cycle her costume from last year. She had put that one together on her own too. The black angel wings were pretty easy to remake by ripping off the feathers and covering the metal construction with some old nylon tights that she had dyed purple.

The rest of her costume consisted of a purple dress that didn't really look like the character's but it was similar enough in color so it would have to do. Before leaving the apartment Madison put her hair up in a high ponytail with a purple ribbon and made sure to keep some front pieces out.

She was pretty pleased with how her costume turned out. It wasn't the best Halloween costume she had ever made but it was one of the better ones. For as long as she could remember she had made her own costumes with her mother and as of lately all on her own. Nothing will ever beat the costume she wore at age three - a pumpkin.

On the way to Kayden's party Madison met up with Hailey. She was wearing her store bought Tinker Bell costume. It looked good, great even. Hailey looked exactly like the animated little fairy. She had even put up her hair like hers with an illusion of bangs.

They had met up on the way to Kayden's and were more than excited to arrive at the long awaited Halloween party. Kayden had promised to make this the most unforgettable Halloween in history so their expectations were through the roof.

Once they saw the door to his apartment they knew this was about to be great. He had covered the entire door in bloody handprints with bloody footsteps on the floor leading up to it. The door swung open by none other than Lawrence. He was dressed up as a huge bottle of Fireball.

"I thought I saw the two of you through the window" he said giving the girls a shared hug. "You're both fairies, right?"

"No I'm a gremlin" Madison couldn't resist but making a sarcastic comment.

"Don't mind her! You're totally right, Lancey" Hailey said which made Lawrence exchange a quick look with Madison before looking back at Hailey. "I'm Tinker Bell and Maddy is Vidia - she's like the villain in Tinker Bell."

"I know. My little sister made me watch those movies at least a million times when we were kids" Lawrence said.

They entered the apartment that was barely even recognizable now that it was covered in spooky decorations. He hadn't lied, Kayden had truly gone above and beyond with this party. As they entered the kitchen there were even a bunch of different kinds of punch with floating plastic eye balls, dismembered foam body parts, candy worms or toy spiders.

"The vampire one is the best. It was my idea" Lawrence said as the girls were about to pour themselves drinks.

Hailey grabbed a cup of red "vampire blood" punch and Madison grabbed herself a cup of green "ogre swamp" punch. Clearly Hailey was swayed by his recommendation.

"How cute! You guys decided to do matching bestie costumes because you don't have boyfriends!" Coralie shouted out as she appeared with Atticus by her side. "But nothing beats a good couple's costume - right Barry?"

"That's right, Vanessa" Atticus answered not looking too pleased in his yellow and black striped shirt.

"Wait what are you even dressed up as? Atti is like a wasp and you are...?" Madison asked not being able to figure it out by just looking at them.

"We're Barry B Benson and Vanessa Bloome from the Bee Movie, duh! Atti-baby say it and they will understand" Coralie punched Atticus shoulder slightly.

"Ya like jazz?" Atticus said quite uncomfortably.

"You sound just like him! That's amazing!" Hailey said - she was the only one impressed by the impression.

As the hours went by they all gradually became less and less sober. There were so many people there that it was easy to get lost. Madison found herself befriending some people she had never seen before, during an intense game of beer pong. But after her team won she couldn't see any of her friends.

"Madison! I'm so glad you came" Kayden appeared swaying in front of her dressed as Lil Naz X with a pink cowboy hat. "Are you having fun?"

"Yeah, this truly is the best Halloween party ever" she replied and gave him a quick hug before he ran away to mingle with somebody else.

She looked around for Hailey for a little while before being approached by Atticus. He had a concerned almost scared look on his face. Madison immediately knew something was up when she saw him.

"What happened?" she asked with equal amount of concern.

"It's Hailey. I think she needs you, Mads" Atticus answered.

Atticus lead Madison up through Kayden's bedroom and into the anxiety inducing bathroom. Before she even had time to reminisce about the last time she was in there she noticed Hailey hunched over the toilet bowl.

"Oh no, Hailes" Madison let out before throwing herself onto the floor to hold up Hailey's hair. "Are you okay?"

"No, I'm puking" Hailey whined before throwing up some more. "I want my mommy."

"I don't think you want her to see you like this" Madison said trying to think of what to do. "Atti, can you ask Kayden if there's a spare bedroom for Hailey to sober up in?"

Before she knew it Atticus had left the room. She was only left alone with Hailey for a few minutes before Lawrence of all people entered the room - deja vu. Only this time he was the bottle of Fireball and Hailey was there with them.

"What are you doing here?" Madison asked almost coming off a bit rude.

"Atticus asked me to help you out" Lawrence answered with a calm voice as he sat himself down on the other side of Hailey.

"Lawrence! You came" Hailey smiled largely and as she looked up at him, then letting her limp body collapse onto his chest. "I love you."

"How much did she drink?" Lawrence whispered to Madison who just shrugged in response. "Well, Kay said she could stay in one of the guest bedrooms."

Lawrence stood up and left the room only to come back again with a bucket just moments later. He gently handed it over to Madison so he could drag Hailey up from the floor. Madison held up the bucket in front of Hailey as Lawrence escorted her into the guest bedroom.

As soon as they got close enough to the bed Hailey dropped onto the mattress. She was still wearing her entire costume. Madison carefully removed the strap on fairy wings from Hailey's back to make sure she could sleep a little bit better.

"Goodnight" Madison whispered as she lightly stroked Hailey's face.
