The next morning Madison woke up with a cruel headache. She hadn't even gotten that drunk last night. Looking around the room she was in she couldn't exactly recognize it. It was a plain room - not in a bad way but in a way where it didn't have much personality.

"You have got to be kidding me" she said when she turned around and was faced by none other than Lawrence sleeping next to her.

"Don't worry, Maddy" he mumbled in a deep morning voice. "I remember everything this time and we didn't do anything."

She was both relieved and a little bit disappointed for some reason. Relieved that she hadn't let Hailey down again but disappointed that Lawrence didn't seem to want her anymore. Madison only had herself to blame... or thank? She had never been this confused by her feelings.

"So just out of curiosity - where exactly are we and why are we sharing a bed?" Madison asked which made Lawrence finally open his eyes.

"Do you always get amnesia when you drink?" he playfully remarked which made her roll her eyes. "We're in Kayden's guest bedroom because that was the only empty bed. It was just out of convenience, really."

"Okay" she said in a soft voice and looked him in the eyes.

Maybe it was the fact that they were making eye contact just a few inches apart in the same bed barely wearing any clothes or the fact that the alcohol hadn't quite made its way out of her system but suddenly Madison had her arms around his neck. Lawrence didn't fight against it.

She pressed her face close enough to his to where their noses where smooshing against each other. If she as much as pouted her lips she would be able to feel his. The feeling was both terrifying and euphoric - just like a drug. They stayed in that position, both of them too afraid to make any further moves.

"What about Hailey?" Lawrence whispered which made Madison snap back to reality in an instant.

Immediately she jumped off of him and tried to lay as far away from him as possible on the queen sized mattress. She stared up at the ceiling and tried her best to come up with an excuse for her actions.

"That was just a test. You passed. I already told you the two of us can't happen because of her and you remembered" she tried her best to gaslight him into thinking she didn't just try to make a real move on him.

"Madison, don't. I know that wasn't a test and I wish things were different, I really do" Lawrence explained stoking her shoulder with his thumb. "The last thing I want to do is to come between you and Hailey."

Suddenly they could hear someone violently throwing up in the room next to theirs.

"Speaking of Hailey" Madison muttered sitting up ready to get up and help her friend out.

Madison reached for the dress laying next to the bed on the floor but was stopped by Lawrence.

"I don't think you want to wear that. I'll get you something else" he said standing up and walked out of the room before she even had time to accept or decline his offer.

Wondering what was wrong with her dress she picked it up only to notice a nasty puke stain on the skirt of it. Within minutes Lawrence came back into the room tossing a white T-shirt to Madison before putting another one on himself.

"Thank you, fashion emergency hero" Madison giggled as she pulled the shirt over her head.

When she was dressed in the oversized T-shirt she stood up a bit dizzily but managed to steady herself by shutting her eyes closed and grabbing onto a dresser. As soon as the feeling of unsteadiness passed she hurried over to the room Hailey was in. It was pretty easy to navigate since she just had to follow the repeated gagging noises.

As Madison entered the room she was met by a foul stench of vomit. It was bad enough to make her start gagging herself. Hailey had gotten out, or possibly fallen out, of the bed. She was sitting on the floor leaning her back against it and with the puke bucket in her lap.

"Oh no, Hailes sweetie" was all Madison managed to get out.

"I feel like I'm decomposing. I think I'm actually dying, Maddy" Hailey groaned. "Will you tell my parents and brothers that I love them when I die?"

"You're just hungover" Madison replied sitting herself down next to Hailey on the floor, trying her best to ignore the smell. "You'll be alright."
