Maya walked through the hauls just letting people pick on her and call her names

"whore". She heard one person say

"Pig skin". She heard another

She's convinced that she is nothing. She's convinced that she's worthless

Lucas was waiting for her in the lunch room

Maya sat down next to him

"Hey"! She greeted

"Whats up". Lucas smirked

One of Lucas's friends did a double take "Uhhh are you sure you're at the right table"? They asked

"Yeaaa, why"? Maya scrunched her eyebrows

"This is the popular kids table, you don't belong here". Zay said

"Hey! Leave her alone"! Lucas shouted

Maya stood up and grabbed her tray "You know Lucas, maybe he's right, maybe I don't belong here".

"No! Maya sit back down. You belong wherever I belong, and if Zay can't except that.....then he's a jerk". Lucas said

"Lucas you're making a scene". Maya mumbled "I'm fine with eating my lunch in the bathroom like I always do".

Before Lucas could say anything, Maya walked away.

Maya was walking through the hallway, before she was stopped by Missy Bradford, the most popular girl in school

"Eww". Missy snarled "Please never walk past me again, I'm to good to be surrounded by you're pathetic self".

"Sorry". Maya muttered

"You better be"! Missy shouted "I'm disgusted that I'm even breathing the same air as you, do us all a favor and kill yourself"!

"Hey"! Mr. Mathews (Maya's favorite teacher) yelled "Missy, that is unexeptable behavior.....go to the principals office"!

"Fine". Missy rolled her eyes

"Come here Maya". Mr. Mathews motioned Maya into his classroom

Maya walked in and took a seat

"How are you doing"? Mr. Mathews asked

"Same as always". Maya said

"Maya, do you think its ok for people to treat you this way"? Mr. Mathews asked

"I guess". Maya shrugged "I have no power over what they say or do to me".

"Yes you do Maya". Mr. Mathews sighed "You can't just let people walk all over you like a doormat, you have to fight back".

"How do I do that"? Maya asked

"You need to let them know that what they are saying is really hurting you".

"Thats what they want"! Maya yelled "They wanna see me in pain, they wanna see me dead".

"Lucas can't protect you forever Maya, sooner or later you're gonna have to strike back". Mr. Mathews pursed his lips

"Whatever". Maya sighed
