The Great Ruler of All (ft. Phoenix)

IX: The Time Before.

A/N: since I don't actually care all that much about getting something for myself out of this, and it is merely for the entertainment of my audience, I will be bringing in whatever I see fit. If for some reason anything gets taken down because of inclusion of a character, I will have to go to where they are rooted and remove them. This shouldn't be an issue, but in case it is, that's my plan. Also, from this point onwards, Naruto is going to be referred to as the form of the gender they've taken, so currently she/her. For simplicity's sake, as you may have guessed.

With Naruto and Rimuru

As Naruto and Rimuru headed back to the front gate, they saw something that unsettled both of them. In broad daylight, right down the road from the adventurer's guild, was a slave market. They nodded to each other, and walked up to the door.

When they got there, a large man stepped out of the shadows, a very buff, scraggy, ugly man. Naruto smiled and said, "Hello sir, may we come inside to look at the merchandise?"

Rimuru was about to say something when Naruto squeezed his hand and said telepathically, 'He thinks that he's going to catch us off guard and make us into merchandise instead. Go along with it for now.'

Rimuru nodded, and followed her in. Once inside, they saw lines and lines of cages, holding people of all kinds. Rimuru got angered when he noticed a section in the back labeled 'Monsters', but kept a calm exterior and followed Naruto and the unknown man into a curtained off room in the back. Rimuru expected to see a lot of 'Premium merchandise' behind this curtain, but only saw one cage with someone in it. It was a purple-haired wolf girl, snarling and growling at the man who stayed out of her range. She was tanned, and without any clothes on, which was the part that upset them the most. All of a sudden, the rest of the workers there stepped around them in a circle.

"You pretty ladies are coming with us." Said the one that was blocking the entrance. Naruto smirked, and said, "For the crimes of enslaving people that you had no right to, your punishment is... Execution," as a huge blast of Kai washed over the room, sending all of the men to the ground gasping for air, and even making Rimuru's knees buckle a little. Naruto's smile turned dark, and Rimuru was advised to put up a barrier by Great Sage as Naruto created a ball of wind chakra in her hand, and tossed it at the ground. The men screamed out in pain when they got caught in the dome of wind, and their lives were almost immediately taken from them.

    Rimuru didn't know someone could be as merciless as that. He was looking on in shock, as Naruto's attack had almost broken through the barrier he placed. She noticed the way he was looking at her, and she held out a hand to him to help him up. "Are you alright? I went a little bit overboard with that technique. Anyways, we have to help all of the slaves trapped here," she spoke quickly, trying to snap Rimuru back to reality.

    They went to the purple-haired wolf girl first, who's name was now Sena Tempest, and helped her out of her cage as Naruto took her measurements to produce clothes using the thread skill that they had both obtained from the spider creature in the Cave of the Storm dragon. It's just a simple white robe to cover her body from prying eyes, but it is effective. The girl thanks them with tears in her eyes, hugging them both tightly. Naruto held the girl's hand and told her "It's okay, we've got you."

    She was hugging the girl tightly, patting her back, as the scene fades away...

With Soueii

    Things were not going well. There was a giant ant colony trying to overrun the city of Rimuru, and the goblins and direwolves weren't working enough to hold them off. On top of that, a Lizardman Emissary had come, seeking an alliance with them to fend off the coming Orc Disaster, and they had to wait for their lord to return for such an important matter.
