Question: Does Love Truly Exist?
The difficult question we all fear to answer continues to haunt us. What is love? Does it really exist? Over time we have tried to grasp what this means but isn't it just down to individuals and what it means to them? Because at the end of the day, whatever anyone says it’s simply their personal perception. Nothing more.
Shakespeare, “love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is winged cupid painted blind”.
“If thou remember’st not the slightest folly
That ever love did make thee run into,
Thou hast not loved “
Nicholas Sparks, “Love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it”
“Love takes no pleasure in other peoples sins, but delights in the truth. It is all ready to excuse, to trust, to hope and endure whatever comes.”
“It’s when my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint toe nails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.”
We can all agree to some extent that the idea of love manifests feelings within us. Some believe that the notion of being "in love" is just the initial flush of overspreading elation or emotion that dwells within us at the beginning of a relationship. It’s the joyful feeling when you discover finding an individual who truly makes you complete and happy. A feeling so wonderful it embeds a raw excitement of being together and hopes of dreams of the future.
Being in love is really only a strong infatuation, where a fatal attraction occurs making us feel emotions like lust and passion, that draw us in like a magnetic pull. This makes us overwhelmed with emotions creating sensations within in us that are seemingly undeniable, those which society have labeled as the cliché’s that movies advertise. Like the butterflies in our stomach, being weak in the knees and feeling the so-called famous spark.
Once this stage fizzles out then what’s next? Do those feelings dissipate? Perhaps the answer to this question is no. What is love?
It is when you can look past ones flaws and forgive them for whatever they do and love them unconditionally. It is when you know that someone is and will always be beside you sharing your hopes, depends on you and cares for you.” When the so-called honeymoon phase vanishes and being in love ceases then what remains? It’s love.

L.O.VE, what do these individual letters spell?
"Loving to the outer most passion,
Of no absolute return
Vunerable at most, but,
Eternal when at its best"
People say love is delusional. Ha! I scoff, well isn't that the perfect term to use? Cause let's face it; everyone that falls for that malarkey really is mentally imbalanced. C'mon, you know you agree! I feel like I need to add that term teenagers use nowadays as if writing a text, "LOL". Honestly, this really does make me want to laugh out loud, simply due to the absurdity of the whole concept that people blindly follow. Love is a four letter word, when ones path crosses with it, drives them to depths of insanity leading them to dwell in endless dreams. Superficial. What a complete joke. Society has made love a joke making us believe what they think love is.
Love is a mediocre word. When two people are in a relationship or share a bond, why should it have to be defined? Who decided to draw the line between love, like and hate? There is that famous saying, "there is a fine line between love and hate". So many people have tried. Shakespeare had the reoccurring theme, he spent endless years writing about love and how it’s connected to betrayal; beauty; family; friendship; trust; anger. He argued that love is eternally bliss or doomed. Even now, people like Nicholas Sparks talk about love and how amazing it is, feeding the world illusions; butterflies, love at first sight, the first kiss, everyone has "the one" waiting for them. Ha! Who's the one? Fools... What exactly is love? It's false. Unreal. Meaningless. You could spend eons of loving someone and for what? To be deceived? Pitiful fools. Love isn't genuine. It's an excuse for people to act as if they're "completely devoted" about one another. Where does love get you? Fucking nowhere, that's where. Why should you have to "love" someone to get by in life? It's futile. To get by in life is to trust no one but yourself. Trust someone else, love someone else, you'll only open yourself up to false misconceptions. You'll get hurt and tossed around... you'll get burned.
Does love truly exist? Well I'll just let you decide but I sure as hell have my perception. How does it exist? We know a phone exists; we see it, touch it, feel it and buy it. But can we say the same thing about love? Can we touch it? Taste it? No, so how can we determine if it truly exists? I know we can feel it, but how do we know the feeling’s love? We live in an era where we turn to science for all answers, well guess what? Even science says love isn’t an emotion; it’s just a chemical reaction. We live in a broken world, with tainted values so what more can you expect?
