'Breathe ... Run ... Quickly ... Never stop...'
Your mind was racing. You could only see green shubbery mixed with the different colors of the beautiful summer Japanese trees swaying in the moonlight, black for the panging in your head wouldn't stop and blotched your sight, but mainly, you saw red. Crimson, iron blood. Everything was a blur. You remember the man that came to your front door with an enraged look, one of a person who shouldn't be out, roaming the cold ground of the Earth. He held what seemed to be a freshly sharpened lumberjack axe. Next thing you knew, something jumped on that man. Blood splattered on your face and on the doorway of you home. Your pupils, shrinking. Your 6 little siblings screamed, a daunting sound that would never leave you and dwell there in your mind till kingdom come. The shrill shrieks coming from your mother's mouth that always spoke words so comforting, so sweet and calm, never one ill intention hinting at whatever she said. The yells and grunts from your father that told you to run and that he and your mother love you. It was hard to recollect, as you did hit your head on something that had a heavy impact. All you remembered was the smell of iron that was so overwhelming it made you want to puke out your guts.
Currently here you were, running through the forest on a hot August night. You, a poor fifteen-year old girl had just witnessed her family get mauled. You couldn't even breathe, your legs were pounding begging for you to stop and rest, your bare feet screaming out from aggressively slapping on the moist, dirt ground, bleeding from being stubbed on sharp rocks. Yet you didn't waver, not for a millisecond. Your head was thumping, your conciousness weaving in and out. You didn't even have time to cry or grieve. Though one might think so, due to the salty sweat dribbling down your forehead and cheeks, mixing with the hot iron blood cascading down your head to the ground below you. It was behind you. You were scared. You caught only a simple glimpse of it as it moved too fast for your eyes to register every small detail. Four legs, two arms with sharp nails, four eyes with a piercing sharp gaze, and three small horns on its forehead. That was all you needed to know to understand that this, was a demon. The hideous creatures lurking in the murky dark that your grandmother used to tell you about in her beautiful garden full of flourishing types of Japanese camellia and plum blossoms. All of it was true.
You were not dumb. You knew the demon had your scent, it could smell your sweet blood. No matter where you went, ran, or hid, it would quickly scout you out. You brushed away all sorts of green shrubbery and branches stained with your blood as you panted heavily, chest heaving up and down. Your tattered kimono that was ripped and drenched in you family's blood and innards slightly bouncing along with you. 'Help me... help me... please, I'm begging you... God save me!' You were praying in your mind desperately hoping an angel sent from heaven would come down and- 'thud'
"I have you trembling under my grasp now damn worm." The demon chuckled lowly.
It had you pinned down, one hand on your neck and its four legs keeping your arms and legs tied to the coarse dirt. You felt its hand and feet on you, it was rough, it felt absolutely disgusting. You couldn't get any warm summer oxygen into your airway when the demon was choking you, you couldn't call out for help... you were going to die. For some reason though, you weren't sad. You only felt anger for the demonic presence that took away your family, but now as you thought about dying, you could see them again. You could see them again if you just endured the pain... just... for one... moment. You came to a slow stop struggling. Your body now relaxing, adrenaline going down, all the pain hitting even harder all at once. It hurt. It hurt all over. Your eyes welling up with salty and bitter tears from the pain that felt like many needles ravenously stabbing into you. Yet not one tear fell.
"Get ready kid, you look one of a kind. First, I'm going to gauge out your eyes-" The demon gurgled.
You swore you saw a flash of pink and green, "Love Breathing, First form, Shivers of First Love!"
Like a flash you noticed two things; in the blink of an eye, the demon's head was gone. Secondly, a pretty, young girl, was standing a bit farther away from you in a perfect landing position. Her pointed blade flicked blood off of it. She was slightly hidden behind some low hanging Japanese lilac. However, you could never miss that bright pink and green hair that reminded you of sakura mochi. The way her long, thick braids shaped her soft, fair face. Not to mention how stunning she looked when the moonlight hit her face. Oh, and those cute birth marks underneath her brightly glittering green eyes that currently held a hint of dark malice in them due to the demon she just killed. You could've sworn you saw a halo hovering over her intricately designed hair. You really did believe God sent you an angel.
Your vision started to spot black, your head felt heavy, like the teapot your mother had made for you and her to have tea time with. Thoughts of your now dead family made your head hurt even more. You felt yourself tear up again. You so badly wanted to scream, but you couldn't. You wouldn't. You saw the pretty lady peak at you through the shrubbery, her sage eyes getting rid of that dark malice and instead held sympathy and concern. Her face contorted into one of shock and she quickly ran to you. She was frantically saying something you couldn't understand, no voice was coming out of her soft pink lips. She picked up your head and placed it on her lap. Her hand was in front of your face waving around. She looked urgent and panicked, extremely panicked. You couldn't make out any of her details. She now just looked like a white and yellow glowing blob radiating warmth and... love... such an overwhelming amount of pure love.
The love that she gave off was that of like a warm spring day. The breeze running through your hair, plum blossoms and sakura tree leaves dancing in the wind with their petals falling and flying around such as how a beautiful dove soars through the baby blue sky, creating such an ambiance. She was like how the koi so calmly and swiftly drifted and swam in the water as if they held no weight on their shoulders. You wanted to be like a koi fish. To live life so freely and peacefully, always basking in the presence of clear blue waters, living in the calm spring season.
You slowly started to close your eyes, a smile appearing on your face. You saw the girl frisk around more, only spewing more babbling nonsense. You felt her quickly pick you up and hold you close as you felt warm wind hit your bloody, injured, and bruised back.
'I'm glad...' you thought '...that I get to die in the arms of such an angel. I'm glad... The last thing I'll see... is my savior... and your shining halo.'
That was the last thing you remembered before blacking out completely.

| What an amazing first chapter! (Author says this because Mitsuri was there :D) I really hope this book can live up to both of our expectations dear reader! Also. Mitsuri's blade currently is pointed due to her being Rengoku's tsuguko currently. Y/N still being 15, Mitsuri is around 17 here. (I know the aging is not right, I wanted to make our main characters 16-17 instead) Please let me know how you feel about this writing style since it is my default. Anyway, your amazing author shall excuse herself now. Bye bye, and thank you!|
