Zayn,
You know how long I've wanted to leave Melbourne right? Well I'm going to go. Now. I know this is definitely not the best way to do it but if I told you in person you'd end up talking me out of it, and I don't want that. I need to leave. I'm sorry.
I'll message you when I reach Sydney, I'm going to stay at my cousin's house until I get things sorted.
Can we please sort things out later?
I love you.
Via xx
I put the note on top of his phone that's placed on the armchair of his lounge, I grab my bag that I had packed with some necessities, then I leave. I walk to the train station which is only ten minutes from his house thankfully.
After catching multiple trains for multiple hours, and spending quite the amount of money on train tickets, I finally reach Central station. I walk out onto the street with my bag over my shoulder, looking out for Niall's, my cousin, car. I soon spot a black, Honda HR-V that Niall told me would be the car he's picking me up in, pulling up in front of me. I quickly hop into the passenger seat and place my bag on the floor.
"Viaaaaaaaa! It's been ages! How you been?" Niall quickly greets with a large smile.
"I've had my ups and downs! Yourself?" I said through laughing at his chirpy attitude that I've really missed. Niall and I are the same age, twenty-two, we used to be really close but then I moved to Melbourne. We kept in touch but we haven't seen each other much at all. Just on the occasional visit when he'd come down to Melbourne to see me and my family.
"Yea good actually. You've changed so much Via. You look great," Niall says with full sincerity.
"Thank you Niall. As do you. And thank you so much for getting me and taking me in on such late notice. You're a blessing my friend," I try to say the end sarcastically. Causing Niall to show his trademark laugh.
After talking about my stressful travel to Sydney of nearly missing trains, almost losing my bag and having creepy men sit next to me on numerous occasions, we're finally at Niall's front door of his flat. Once we walk in, I am in awe. He's made a little boring place into such a little haven for himself. Everything in this house is so...him. Starting from the two guitars being scattered over the lounge, to his favourite soccer team plastered on his wall as a poster.
"Spare room is just down the hall way, the door on the right," he points with his finger to guide me.
I walk down the hall into the spare room to unpack the few things that I have. The room is incredibly bare. With maroon walls and cream carpet being the main aspect of the room. There is a king single bed under the window that's got a white pillow and quilt and a little wooden beside table next to the head of the bed. I place my bag on my bed and take out my clothes to hang them in the cupboard that's placed next to the door, I put a few intricate things into the bed side table and I put my phone onto charge so I can let Zayn know that I'm in Sydney, before I leave the room.
As I enter the lounge room, Niall is sitting on the lounge typing on his phone, once he notices my presence, he pats the spare seat next to him to gesture me to sit down.
"So Via, I want to hear everything," he declares quickly.
"Starting from where?" I laugh at Niall's need to know literally everything.
"When you started hating Melbourne to why you're now here in Sydney not living like a hobo thanks to me," Niall laughs as if what he just said was the funniest thing in the world.
So that's what I did, I explained how everything I did in Melbourne seemed to end badly, I merely failed school, I couldn't get a decent job. I told Niall quite a bit about Zayn, how he was my little savior at my hardest times and that he was always there for me when my family weren't. I told him of how I left Melbourne, that I left a note for Zayn and just left, with out really mentioning a word to anyone. It was really quite selfish of me but I felt at the time that it was the only way.
"Has Zayn contacted you yet?" Was all Niall had to say after my long explanation as to why I'm now staying with him in Sydney.
"Uh no he hasn't. I texted him but I haven't heard a reply yet. I don't blame him though, he's probably quite mad at me or he's still asleep," I try defend Zayn's behaviour.
"It's midday, do you really think he's asleep? I don't think him being mad at you would be a good excuse to not contact you to at least see if you're alright and safe," Niall frowns.
"I'm sure he has a reason. I'll let you know if he contacts me though," I say before I hug him and get off the lounge to head to the kitchen to get something to eat. I haven't eaten in six hours which is a big deal for me.
Niall's words are playing through my mind as I scan through the fridge. I'm sure Zayn will contact me soon. He usually checks to see if I'm alright, I think...
Niall always has cared for me like an older brother, always caring what kind of guys I dated and how they treated me, always making sure I'm ok in every situation. He knows that I don't exactly have the best family, so he tried to always be there for me when I needed so I never felt alone. That's why I knew he'd happily let me stay with him in Sydney because he then knew I'd be safe and won't be alone on my quite large, journey ahead.
