Y/n's P.O.V

I sigh. A plan? What plan could we possibly make? The protection of my family is clearly no challenge to the bastard. And we know he's coming back. We just don't know when or how.

So, what could I possibly do? Well, if he's planning on using me to get at the animatronics, clearly the only way would be to be rid of myself, theoretically speaking. But, he wouldn't allow that. He needs me alive to get to them. For his... experiments. I take a deep breath, maybe I could use my own life as a bargaining chip somehow? We need to be ready for him to come back, but how could we be ready for such a thing when no matter how tight the security is he always finds a way in?

"Hey, kiddo, how are you doing?" I turn to the door, Mom. It's mom.

"I'm... I'm fine. I'm just trying to think of a plan." I chew on my lower lip. "You and Dad have faced a lot of difficult situations, right? How do you deal with an enemy that you know will get through whatever you throw at them to get what they want?"

She sits down on the edge of my bed and thinks of it for a moment. I hadn't seen Mom in ages because she and Dad have been busy overseeing making security as tight as physically possible, turning the already fortress of a hideout, formidable. Still, she never seems to tire and she simply absorbs my questions silently. I can feel her thinking.

"Well, you'd have to use what they want to your advantage yes? Dangle it in front of them. You're talking about this whole situation with your friends right? That strange man wants to use you to make your friends suffer and, if I remember right from the reports they were given the choice of him kidnapping you or him coming to collect at a later date right? And the whole point is to make the animatronics suffer. So, you need to avoid the animatronics suffering." Mom looks at me.

"The easy way to think of it is you being the agent of their suffering, however, since the animatronics decided to simply wait for him to show again the agent of their suffering is the fear and anxiety of knowing he's coming back but not when or how or for who." Mom smiles softly. "I'm not quite sure how we could work with that yet, you'd have to give me a moment, but I got the gist of it, right?"

"Yeah, yeah you did." I puff out my cheeks and sigh. "You're right, I was thinking of using myself as bait."

"Well, that could still work if it offers more suffering to him and more immediately, right?" Mom chews her inner cheek.

"I guess so, but that would mean, I'd have to do it in front of them." I furrow my brow, imagining sacrificing myself to him in front of the animatronics, "It could work, but I don't know if I could see them suffer like that, and I also don't know if maybe that is exactly what he wants."

"I mean alternatively, you could all just try your best to entirely forget about the idea of him coming back for any of you and therefore eliminate any suffering you might feel." Mom taps her chin with her finger. "But, that's quite the feat for each individual to accomplish and I would say, has a lower chance of succeeding."

I nod silently and lay back in bed. "Ugh, this is all so hard. It makes me wish I just stuck to work for the gang."

Mom smiles softly. "Well, speaking of, your dad and I were talking and I think we might retire. The rest of the gang are getting hired out as official security guards for Isamu's family."

Decided to go with a half-chapter to ease myself back into writing this, but I did manage to crank this out moderately faster than I expected.
