In the previous chapter, Shadow and I visited a village and enjoyed our first meal after a prolonged hibernation. Shadow can be so exasperating! Why is he so concerned about half-season vampires and what is he implying about my head! In this chapter, we will meet these half-season vampires, and honestly, they have no sense of fashion whatsoever! I mean, look at me, I’ve been wearing this clown costume since... I can’t even remember, but at least it’s more fashionable than those fake vampires. So, let’s continue our story.

“Well, well, well! Look at the faces of our guests, Shadow. They gaze at us as though we are low-level creatures, even though their masters are the ones who sent them here to converse with us. And, can you believe it! Those half-season vampires look like fools. Look! The weather is incredibly hot, and they’re wearing those robes as if they need to keep their identities a secret from humans” .

Chaos’s words made Shadow chuckle and nod in agreement. Chaos is not wrong; those vampires indeed have a poor sense of fashion compared to them, and they are the ones who’ve been asleep for millions of years.

Chaos’s taunt and Shadow’s laughter infuriated the Volturi guards, especially their blonde leader, Jane. Jane was seething. Who do these two think they are! How dare they mock the guards of the Volturi. All she wanted at that moment was to make Chaos and Shadow experience the most terrible pain imaginable.

Seeing his twin sister’s growing anger, Alec became concerned. He was also quite upset about being mocked, but there was something about those two that made him feel like they shouldn’t be trifled with. He failed to notice Chaos’s odd smile widening as she watched Jane’s anger and Alec’s thoughts.

Although he doesn’t care much for these two strangers, he felt the need to step up and speak before the situation escalated. Looking around, it was clear they were the same individuals responsible for the previous massacre.

To have done that, they must be incredibly powerful. And why don’t these two have any scent at all? He was also quite intimidated when he saw Shadow and his eyes. He began speaking, trying to hide his discomfort .

“Hello! We are the guards of the Volturi. We mean you no harm. Our masters simply wish to speak with both of you. Would you both consent to accompany us to meet them?”

Even though he maintained a strong facade, he was quite nervous inside. They didn’t seem like the kind of people they should be messing with, and take a look around! This place was in absolute chaos. Only then did Alec notice the blue flames.

They were peculiar, not only because of their color but because they continued to burn despite the water around them. And those flames moved as if they had a mind of their own.

This realization made Alec even more anxious. If they possessed such power, then these two certainly weren’t ordinary.

Chaos just continued to smile but said nothing, and Shadow simply remained silent, staring at the Volturi guards. Just when Alec thought his words weren’t persuasive enough and was about to try again, some fool on their side decided to do something incredibly reckless.

“You don’t need to convince these idiots to do anything , brother. We just need to use force to bring them back to Volterra. Let them tremble before the might of the Volturi. Besides, those two seem very weak, especially that odd clown.”

Idiots?!”

Clown?!”

As they say, fools always surround us, and sometimes they never use their brains to think about their actions or consider the consequences. In this case, we have two destroyers who have been angered by the fool’s words, and one of them is angrier than ever because he dared to call her a “clown”.

Although Shadow has a much cooler head than Chaos, he doesn’t appreciate being insulted by such a feeble creature. As for Chaos... Why... Why! How dare that lowly creature call her a “clown”. She is a Joker, not a “clown”. With her anger rising, Chaos snapped her fingers, and instantly, the man who had insulted them was reduced to ashes by the blue flames that were burning as hot and high as her anger. The flames around them seemed to burn stronger and higher, as if they sensed Chaos’s anger.

The guy didn’t have time to scream before his body was consumed by the flames and disintegrated. But after he was completely gone, his screams could be heard echoing from someplace, as though he was being tormented by something.

Still seething, Chaos was about to unleash her anger on the remaining vampires, but Shadow extended shadow tentacles from his back and restrained Chaos.

Calm down, please! Don’t get angry; it’s not good for you. Let’s just go with them. I mean... it could be fun, and maybe there’s a pizza place in Volterra. We can toy with those half-season vampires for fun too. Don’t you enjoy driving people crazy?”

Shadow’s soothing words gradually worked and convinced her, as Chaos began to calm down a bit.

After regaining her composure, Chaos resumed her usual smiling demeanor before addressing the Witch Twins and the rest of the half-season vampires.

“Sorry about that. Of course, we will accompany you guys to Volterra. We’ve always wanted to see how the Earth has changed. Don’t let what just happened affect you. It’s just that we don’t appreciate it when people become rude, especially to someone they shouldn’t make fun of” .

Chaos emphasized the last few words as though trying to send a message to the Volturi guards, especially Jane and Alec.

The Volturi guards were shocked by Chaos’s power. They were quite fearful when they felt Chaos’ bloodlust and the sudden shift in her mood, from anger to a smile, at a pace that sent shivers down their spines.

Not to mention the change in those strange blue flames with Chaos’s mood and the transformation of the scenery around them when Chaos was angry. Her creepy mask, which altered with her emotions, only amplified her eeriness.

“No...No...Nothing, let’s just start heading back to Volterra,” Alec said, his voice noticeably more frightened than before. Who wouldn’t be scared after experiencing how insignificant they were in the face of such a terrifying being?

Jane was hesitant to admit it, but when Chaos was furious, she could feel Chaos’s malicious bloodlust targeting her, as if Chaos had heard Jane’s thoughts about them screaming while she tortured them.

The Volturi guards stepped aside as Chaos and Shadow walked past them. But as they passed Jane and Alec, Shadow said something that let the Witch Twins know they were aware of the Volturi’s intentions.

Don’t harbor any ill intentions, because I won’t stop her from killing all of you next time.”

Shadow can speak normally. It’s just that he despises speaking to any creatures other than Chaos.
