Perhaps he could've told what was going on if he had been more lucid. Perhaps he would've noticed the waver in his friend's voice. The waver which always meant he was lying. And perhaps he would've noticed the trembling too. Perhaps if it wasn't for the sudden loss of energy and all his senses he would've heard the pained grunts of his friend. Would've seen how they slumped over in pain, tears streaming down their cheeks as they took in a last gasping breath. Perhaps he would've felt the black particles on his skin as the wind gently blew them away.

But alas, it was too late now.

The vigilante had lied.

He could not take it.

.

Just mere minutes earlier Ranboo and Tubbo had been separated inside of the facility, too many of the individuals coming their way and blocking their path. Purpled had immediately gone to work, ability seizing up with purple explosive clouds spreading anywhere, sizzling whenever one of them came too close or even dared as much as to look in his direction.

The two friends had shared a look at the first explosion. They knew Purpled could stand his ground, so they didn't need to try and protect him. Which left the two of them to weave their way through the crowds of angry people, dodging knives and even bloody bullets left and right. It was quite rude of them, shooting at them when they only wanted to get their best friend out of the grasp of an insane man-god. Like seriously, they weren't even trying to hurt them much, just a small little cut but no, these guys had to pull out the big guns. Literally.

"There are stairs over there," Tubbo said through gritted teeth, swinging his dagger at one of the men that had gotten too close to them.

"He's probably downstairs," the vigilante huffed, dodging a kick that was aimed at their chest,

"best bet would be to go and look there."

"Will probably be a bit hard," the hero ducked underneath a punch, instantly swinging his dagger and knocking out one of the people, "considering they swarmed us."

"I could travel there using the void," Ranboo said hesitantly, sidestepping to get out of the line of a punch being thrown towards him before pushing the person towards Tubbo, said person hitting the ground soon after, "I'd leave you alone, though."

"We've got coms. Just do it!"

"That sentence is trademarked."

"Void I swear to fucking god-"

From there it was a blur of fighting, dodging punches and kicks and weapons of all kinds, ignoring the ringing in his ears from the gunfire and cutting down every single red-eyed individual that came too close to them. Purpled kept on blowing up parts of the ground level of the warehouse they were in, bits of former crates littering the ground, some coating the unconscious people.

At some point, the weird Slime guy that Jester had brought with him showed up, a cheery smile on his face as he started literally encasing people in his goop. It was a disgusting sight, Tubbo thought, face morphing into a grimace as he watched the hybrid simply touching a woman. The goop spread all over her arm in an instant, the bullet she had shot at him getting stuck in his sticky skin. Within a second a thick coat of slime spread all over her skin and then the young hero watched with morbid curiosity as the slime sucked her into his body, the transparent skin giving him front-row seats to see her body literally disintegrating, a shocked expression frozen on her face before that too disappeared and merged with the light green goop covering the hybrid's skin.

"That felt funny," the slime chuckled.

Tubbo made a mental note to stay the fuck away from the hybrid.
