Quick disclaimer before you read my poem, this was made in my creative writing class because it was one of my assignments so I decided to share this one. Most of these stories that I will publish have been some of my creative writing assignments but others will be posted for practice.
I.
Heartracing
Another jumpscare
Grasping my arms in fear of what's to come
Spilt water all over the desk
II.
Comforting
A crack of my smile began to show
Old memories came flooding back
III.
Faint screams in the distance
Procrastination
Looking back up at the frightened creator with a blank stare
IV.
Piles of old and new homework
Flood my floor
Phone notifications going off with reminders
I did not care, I kept watching
V.
Annoyance
Why does she keep watching that?
Her eyes glued to the screen
She looks like a machine

Dirty plates on the desk
My parents started to beg
Finally looking away from the screen
Only to not cause a scene

Cries for help
The rings of the bell
Freed me from my spell
But I feel well

Staring blankly at the screen
Awaiting for the jumpscare to be seen
Disappointment
Once again

Almost asleep
Hearing the sounds in the distance
Closing eyes and drifted off into a deep sleep

Laughter
Staring at the screen with a cheerful grin
This is my happy place

A creek from the door sound
It was behind them
In fear of what's to come they bolted
But it was never enough

Frustration
Grasping my arm tight
I needed to know what was happening

Grabbing everything I need
Before the bells rings
Why couldn't I wait
