"we'll be next, right after squadron two has arrived at the shooting range." he begins. "when we step foot outside of these barricades, i'll need you to all stay alert and as quiet as possible. we'll be going by foot— boss's orders."
jaehyun and taeyong share a look, i notice.
hesitantly, jaehyun speaks. "we heard word from higher-ups that they evacuated the city..." he says.
"what? when?" taesoo asks.
"they told us last night, that they had opened the bunkers around three days ago." taeyong states.
"so... something is wrong?" i start. "is it the spheres?"
jaehyun sighs. "rumors are— that some have fallen from the sky."
"are they a threat?" sangwon questions seriously.
"we don't know. and that's why we need to keep our guards up when we head to the shooting range...
apparently they are sensitive to any type of noise."
i observe how the facial expressions of the group shift into the slightest bits of fear.
"this is what we've been training for guys." i explain.
"yes, she's right." minha replies. "plus, we'll have a few other officers with us. corporals liu and qian. they'll be our extra protection."
the fear in their eyes dampens at minha's reassurance.
there is a buzz and sound of talking from taeyong's walkie-talkie.
he responds quickly and returns his attention to us again.
