no one's POV

now heading back to the school, everyone takes the same positions in a line as they begin their travels back.

after only a few minutes of walking, a static erupts from taeyong's walkie-talkie.

"let's talk a five minute break." he says to the students, who nod before taking seats on the sidewalk pavement.

they watch as taeyong takes jaehyun and minha to the side, ms.han and both corporals liu and qian taking watch over the group.

in a quite and protected corner, taeyong turns up his radio, clikcing the button before speaking.

"this is squadron four, platoon leader lee speaking... what's happening on your end?" he asks with concern.

the other end of the line clicks. another string of static sounds.

a few seconds pass with the distortion.

then... a voice speaks.

a woman musters all of her last bits of strength after her arm being sliced off and pieced by a sphere, to warn the incoming squadron.

"t-this is sergeant seo jayoon of s-squadron t-two." a weak voice speaks, breathing quiet heavily.

"the spheres..." she coughs violently. "they're attacking."

"they're on the streets— y-you... need to run."

those are the last words she speaks before the line goes dead and a high pitch chittering from above their heads, grabs the three soldiers' attention.

a small, purple-ish alien creature vanishes around the corner.

without a word, the three of them rush quietly and quickly back to the group that waited behind.

their sudden and startled appearances result i  the groups' equally scared faces, wondering what is happening.

"listen carefully, privates." taeyong softly announces.

"squadron two has been attacked."

panicked expressions paint over their features.

"this is a real life emergency situation. the spheres are the source of aggression. and they are on the streets..." he finishes.
