He dreamt about Shigaraki again. It's definitely not the last time he will dream about him. It started around a week after everything ended. The battle, the bloodshed, the deaths. Everything broke him.
Mentally and physically. The war put a huge toll on his body.
But he did it, he won. Izuku killed Shigaraki and ended the cycle of One For All vs. All For One. The antithesis to the Symbol of Peace was no more. And he made sure of it.
After defeating Shigaraki, he spent a week hunting down all of his secret bases and tore them apart. All his underground business, his Nomu factories, everything. Erased from the face of the planet.
And peace came.
But something about what All For One said to him didn't sit right with him. He didn't like how he described Shigaraki or, as he revealed him to be, Tenko Shimura was basically groomed into becoming the successor to All For One.
"Tenko and I are almost similar, but on different ends of the spectrum. He was shunned by society for having a dangerous quirk and followed his own wrath, promising to destroy society for what he did to him. I was shunned by society for not having power but followed my own path, promising to fix society for what it did to him and many others. I was lucky to have help, he didn't. Tenko was all alone until he was picked up by that man."
Izuku was reminiscing about the past. Perhaps if he had met him much earlier on, he could've saved him. He could've prevented so much death and destruction.
That is what if is always lingering in the back of his mind. What if he had met Tenko when they were kids. He absolutely would've taken him home, and his mother would've loved him.
Hearing Nana crying was something that haunted him for many months when he and she heard those words uttered by All For One.
"In the end, it had to be this way. We both wanted change, and it led to us fighting to the death. This could be a good song." He said as he finished up writing on his book. Someone mentioned that writing about his feelings can be a good way to cope. Sometimes, he feels like he failed, but oftentimes, he was told that this was the only way to save everyone.
Carrying the lifeless body of Tenko Shimura is a memory he will never forget. He will never forget how he failed him.
Izuku Midoriya wanted to be a hero who saved everyone, including villains. And he failed.
And Midnight? Oh God. Her face was unrecognizable after the punishment she got from the villains. He had failed her, too.
"You can't save everyone, Izuku, that's the harsh truth of the world." Nana reassured her that she tried too, but it never worked out. Even All Might has failed to save people in the past. Nobody is perfect.
"I know." But what if.
A knock on his door, thankfully, took him out of his thoughts.
"Who is it?"
"Izuku honey? It's me dear, your mother."
He scrambled out of his seat to open the door, accidentally slamming his foot on his bed. From outside, Inko heard a loud sound, and the door opened. "Are you OK dear?"
"I'm fine, mom. Uh, how come you didn't let me know you were coming over?"
"I did. I sent you a text and even called you, but you didn't respond. I got worried, so I hurried over. Are you sure you're ok, honey?" She is really worried about him. Her motherly instincts are screaming at her.
"I'll be fine. I was just thinking about the past." He never liked thinking about the past. The war, the training camp, the USJ, his childhood. All shitty moments of his life.
"How about we go out for a walk to clear your mind?" He loves his mom. She always knows how to make him feel better.
"That sounds awesome. Let me change real quick."
Before he closed the door, she said something else. "Your sister is here too. I forgot to mention, but she's wanting to see you for a while. Hurry up, ok?"
"Will do!" The door shut, and she left back downstairs.
"Let's see, the sun's out now, but it's pretty windy. Ok, I know what to wear."
Back downstairs, Inko was using her Quirk to make Eri fly in the air as if she were a superhero.
"Yea, haha! I'm the queen of the sky!" Eri was having a blast flying around with Uraraka, who was floating next to her.
"I'm here, mom!"
"Big bro!" Eri launched herself right into her brother's chest, sending them both tumbling to the ground.
"Holy h-e-double hockey stick, you've gotten strong, haven't you?"
Eri crawled on top of him and set herself over his shoulders. "Yup, ima be strong just like you!"
She's so lively.
"So you ready to head out with mom?" She nodded. "Ok, let's go."
The Midoriya family headed out, ready to enjoy some nice family time.
They took a stroll through the city, grateful no villain attacks are happening at the moment. Arriving at a park, they took a seat at a bench near the park fountain.
"Eri, wanna go play?" He asked his little sis, who had a starry-eyed look.
"Go have fun, I'll watch from afar." Inko basically shooed them away, wanting them to have some sibling bonding time.
Said siblings were running around with Izuku chasing her, playing the big bad baddie who's gonna terrorize the little heroine.
"Ima get you goody two shoes. You can't stop the wrath of Maldad!" He growled in evil tones, making the hero more determined to stop his villainous ways.
"I'll stop you in the name of everything that is good. In due time, you will fall to justice!"
Midoriya Family Secret Technique
Crocodile Tears
Eri suddenly started crying, gaining the attention of some onlookers who couldn't believe somebody would make an innocent little girl cry.
Izuku was at a loss. He was getting shifty looks from people since he was looming over her crying self.
Suddenly, Eri had a mischievous look and jumped up. Headbutting poor old Izuku, who was shocked at the sneak attack. "I've been defeated!" He yelled in agony as he fell back into the fountain. "ARGH WATER MY WEAKNESS!"
Eri stoops atop the fountain, watching evil get taken down once again. "Yay!"
From afar Inko had recorded the whole thing. "If you get sick, that's on you for falling into the fountain!"
The trio walked back home with Izuku taking a shower as soon as he got back. They ended the day with a nice Katsudon dinner.
The atmosphere was amazing, and Izuku loved spending the time with his family and incredibly happy that Eri was able to find happiness with him and his mother.
His mother found both siblings cuddled up in his in the living room couch fast asleep, a movie playing in the background. A smile graced her face as she took a photo of the heartwarming scene before her.
Inko, Eri, and Izuku are happy with their lives.
Kyouka was wondering where the hell her boyfriend was all day. "I NEED CUDDLES DAMNIT!!!"
