Spiderverse spoilers in this chapter, so read at your own caution.
It took a long time, but he did it. Another song completed despite how many times he told himself he wasn't gonna make more. Crazy how when inspiration comes to you, it's hard to stop yourself from doing it.
He's got the instrumental finished, and the lyrics are done. All he's got to do now is put everything together and boom. New song.
"Big bro, breakfast is ready!" Eri burst through his bedroom door, announcing that the food is ready, so he closed his laptop and followed her to the kitchen.
His mom had prepared a big meal for them since its one of the few times he gets to have breakfast with her.
The Katsudon looked especially delicious. The crab legs looked appetizing, too.
It was Eri's first time having crab legs, and she was kinda terrified by how they looked, but after seeing Izuku dip them in some garlic butter sauce, she did the same and loved it.
Breakfast was a normal ordeal after that, and so it it came the time for school.
He took a shower, changed into his uniform, and got ready to depart. There is just one thing to do before he does.
"Bye, mom." He gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Bye, Eri." He gave her a kiss on her horn.
"Bye Izuku/Izu-nii!" Ah, to be sent off by his loving family, he truly is blessed.
Walking to school was the same as usual, strolling through the streets, meeting fans, taking pictures, and giving them advice on how to be a hero. He doesn't love the attention, but the children that come up to him asking for autographs are adorable.
He was suddenly getting a phone call, it's Kaminari.
"Heyo!"
"Dude, can you like hurry up to school? Jirou's kinda cranky, and Yaomomo says you're the only one who can get her to chill."
That's kinda weird. Why him, though?
"OHHHH It's that time of the month. ok, I'm on my way."
"That time of the month? Then why you?"
"I'll explain when I get there. I'll be there soon!"
He hung up and immediately sprinted to go buy some food for her. See, she loves caramel, and there's this shop that sells some good stuff called Chocolate Factory. Despite the name, they sell nonchocolate items, and the caramel squares they sell are delicious. Kyouka would like them.
"Yea, can I get a dozen batch of caramel squares and a Dr pepper." The cashier rang him up, and his total was 3,211 yen or around 23 american dollars.
He paid and then just fucking booked it to UA before she hurt someone. Knowing how aggressive she can be, he feared for his classmates' lives.
Walking in, he can see the aura of anger around her, her earphone jacks positioned, ready to strike at any poor soul who dared bother her.
"Kyo!" Immediately handing her one of the pastries he bought, and she seemed to immediately calm down. Her jacks fell back down, and her eyes lit up in happiness as she began devouring her treat.
"Alright, everyone, take your seats. I see that you all are, good job. I graded your assignments, and I have to say I'm impressed with all of you. Kaminari, please stop using so many incomplete words next time, but overall, good job."
His report had so many grammatical errors, but whatever he did, the work.
"Since you all did good, you deserve a reward. Take the day off, have fun, or whatever, I don't care." He slithered into his cocoon. "Just don't bother me." He was asleep within seconds.
Izuku was the first to leave the room, followed by Kyouka. He wanted to go back home to finish up the song. All his stuff is back at home, so he won't be able to do it at the dorms.
"Hey Izu! Where are you headed?" His girlfriend asked, and while he did wanna ask her to come over, he doesn't know how she'll fare meeting his mom. Yes, they've seen her before, but they've never talked to each other. Kyouka has only seen her from a distance.
He doesn't wanna put that kinda pressure on her, especially today.
"Sorry Kyo, but I'm going back home."
"WHAT?!"
Then again, maybe leaving behind his cranky gf all alone isn't such a good idea either. Judging from the nasty glare he's getting from her, she wants to spend today with him.
"What I meant to say is that we're going to cuddle all day and watch movies." Her cute smile was back and wasn't that something to see. Her mood swings are insane.
Hesitantly, he changed directions and walked to the dorms with Kyouka linked to his arm. His classmates are already aware of this relationship, it was a bitch to have them all stop asking questions. Especially Ashido.
The two ended up watching across the spiderverse. A pre quirk Era superhero animated film. Kyouka vibes so hard with Gwen, how she was in a band was fucking awesome to her.
She felt for the girl when she had a falling out with her own father because of her being unable to tell him her secret and that she wasn't the one who killed her best friend.
That was heartbreaking for Kyouka. She can't imagine a world where she and her own father broke apart.
Izuku understood and empathize with Miles, but he also understood where Miguel was coming from. Save one life or save millions.
And it's never easy.
Miles wanting to save his dad's life was something that Izuku would also do for his own mother. He will never let her get hurt.
It was 50/50 for Izuku, honestly.
Overall, it was a fantastic film. The twist where Miles got transported to a different dimension definitely got them. It was so weird seeing a world where Miles was a villain.
It made them think that maybe in a different world, both Kyouka and Izuku are also villains. They doubted it, though. After all, the multiverse isn't real.
"What's your Canon event, Kyo?" He asked her, that term was funny to him. But at the same time, it's important because those specific moments in your life will determine your decisions in the future. They mold you into what you end up becoming.
"It's probably the same for everyone, but definitely when I got my Quirk. It feels like for everyone, that's their canon event." That's a safe assumption. "What about you, Izu?"
He thought back to his childhood. His quirk not coming in. The abuse by his peers, the betrayal of his best friend. Growing up rejected by society and eventually meeting All Might. Gaining OFA, surviving the USJ, and meeting face to face with the hero killer. Encountering Shigaraki at the mall and saving Kota's life at training camp from Muscular. Defeating Overhaul and rescuing Eri. Stopping Gentle from disrupting the festival. The war between heroes and villains and the eventual defeat of Shigaraki and ending the cycle of All For One and One For All.
And to choose from all of those as his Canon event? He had one thing to say.
"Yea, me too."
And they never spoke about it again as they continued to watch another movie.
