I'm running faster and faster but it's catching up. I zig-zag in between trees I'm running out of breath and it's getting closer and closer with each step I take. I see an opening close by but I'm not sure if I'll make it. It's closing in. As I'm sprinting with all my might towards the opening, I can see that it's closing in. I trip and graze my knee and it's only about 80 meters away from me now, getting closer by the second. I think I sprained my ankle. I push myself off the ground. If I can just make it to the clearing, I should be safe. I'm limping as fast as I can, but each step is like being stabbed with knifes all around my ankle, I can do it, I have to do it. For her sake. Faster. Faster. Almost there. I see people waiting there, cheering me on. I have to make it. I need to.
(1 hour before) - 'Catch me if you can!' I shout to Riley, my friend. We were playing tag, and he was it. Riley and I were the only two players. No-one really speaks to us, we're the so-called weirdos of the school so we just get left alone all the time. That's ok though, it's always been just us two, nothing can tear us apart. It's been like this for 5 years now. One more year and we finish high school. I'm so excited. Rain suddenly appears, 'Ouch.' I slipped over and Riley catches up to me. 'You good man?' he asks, 'Yeah I just fell over. I think we have to go inside; it looks like there's going to be a lot more rain.' I respond as I look to the sky. 'Yeah I agree. Come on' We both go inside only to find that no-one's there. 'That's weird, I thought that, at least, the popular girls would be here. They hate getting wet.' Riley notices. I don't reply, I'm looking around cautiously as I suspect that todays the day of 'the test' Riley see's this and goes quiet, he doesn't want to wake 'it'.
(I know this one is shorter but It was all I was allowed to do for a school task)
