- Y/N POV -
The next day, the turtles came back to check on April and I. We were properly introduced, and they let us into their lair.
I felt like I instantly clicked with all of them. Mikey, the youngest of the turtle brothers and the one in orange, was easily the funniest and most precious being that I had ever met. He seemed to like me too, as he has already told me his next prank that he plans to use on the rest of the guys.
Donnie's lab was easily the most amazing place I had ever seen. It also helped that I was really into science and robotics, so unlike everyone else, I actually understood what he was saying. As soon as I gave him advice on the new system he was working on, I became his favorite... right after April. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy like a brother, but he's not subtle with his crush. At all.
Raph was... an interesting case. He was very hesitant about letting us into their home, but eventually he caved. His short temper and fiery personality kinda related to mine, so I felt like I understood him. He seemed more comfortable around me as the week went on, but his guard was still up. As was mine.
Then there was Leo. The fearless leader. He was welcoming, and seemed to adjust quickly to our situation. Around him I felt more... open. Exposed. Like I couldn't hide anything. It seemed like I had a different kind of connection with him. All I knew was that he was my best friend out of all of them.
Meeting Master Splinter was...strange. He seemed to already know all about us (courtesy of the boys, I'm sure) and our situation, so that wasn't a problem. He welcomed us in, but as soon as he saw me, he paused. It was only for a split second, a moment's hesitation, but something flickered across his face. He quickly excused himself to the dojo to meditate.
Now, l was sitting with Mikey and April on the couch in the lair with a book in my hand. Mikey was rambling on about this celebrity named Chris Bradford and not having human friends when April spoke up. "That's not true Mikey, you do have human friends."
He looks confused. "Who?"
"Us, shellbrain," I tease with a small laugh, walking over to his side of the couch. He slumps. "You two don't count. We saved your life... you have to like us,"
"Too bad there's no place to meet people where they can't see how hideous they are," Raph chimes in as he does push-ups on his sais.
Show off.
April lights up. "Wait, there is!" she says. I caught on. "The internet!" we both say in unison.
"Donnie, can I see your laptop?" Donnie jumps at the sudden question from my redheaded best friend. "S-Sure! Just a sec," He stutters before passing it to her.
"Check it out," she starts. "It's a site where you can meet anyone online."
"Sweet!" Mikey bounces to his feet and shoves April out of the way as he furiously types on the computer. I snicker at the small interaction before looking over his shoulder. Mikey pulls up Chris's profile and friends him, waiting eagerly for a response.
"Mikey, people don't always respond–" April is cut off by the small beep of acceptance as the celebrity accepts his request.
"But sometimes they do." I say surprised, as the turtle's face lights up.
"No way... Chris Bradford accepted my friendship! I have a friend!" He pulls April and I into a sudden hug. "Thanks April, thanks Y/N!"
"You're welcome?" Mikey gets up from the couch and starts heading towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Donnie questions, slightly alarmed at his brother's newfound excitement.
"To hang out with my friend Chris Bradford," He continues to walk out of the lair.
