Oh look at that—
I updated again. It looks like my hyper fixation is working :)

- Y/N POV -

It had been a few days since April and I had been to the lair, and we got there just as the boys were getting back from patrol. Donnie was carrying the upper half of a disabled Kraang droid with an eager look on his face as he plopped it down on the floor in the main room. I sat down next to him while April was next to me, typing away at her computer.

"Need some help there D?" I asked, curiously looking at the droid. He nodded enthusiastically.

"Sure!" He turned to his brothers, speaking louder. "At least someone else here appreciates science."

"Oh great," Raph rolls his eyes as he sits down on the couch with his pet turtle Spike on his shoulder. "Another Donnie to–"

"Finish that sentence, Raph." I sent him a cold glare. "I dare you."

He gulps slightly and sinks into the couch.

"That's what I thought."

"This technology is unlike anything I've ever seen," Donnie says excitedly as he shuffles through the robot's remains. He turns to April. "Do you know what this is?"

She doesn't look up from her computer. "No,"

"Neither do I! But I can't wait to find out,"

I inspect the head of the droid and suppress a shiver. This tech was super cool, but it was still made by the aliens who had kidnapped my father figure. I ignore the others as I try to concentrate on the task at hand, trying my best to find a way to pick apart the droid to try to reversengineer it to figure out how it works.

"But remember," Master Splinter tells Donnie. "Technology is a means, not an end. It is you who must prevail in battle, not your weapon. Combat is not a videogame."

"That's it!" Donnie exclaims as he takes the droid from my hands and drags it towards his lab. "I'll turn combat into a video game! Y/N, want to help?"

I shrug. "Sure, why not?"

I don't notice a pair of electric blue eyes following me as I disappear into Donnie's lab.

A few hours later, I startle as I hear a crash and a groan outside of Donnie's lab. I sigh as I turn to the ninja in purple. "I'll check it out."

He gives me a thumbs up and turns back around to weld more of his new "weapon." Personally, I thought it was amazing, but there were some clear parts to it that wouldn't fit his skill set. Oh well.
"Why not now?" April's voice rings out, a sense of urgency behind it.

"Because it's daytime. We can't let anyone see us." Leo tries to reason with her as she slams her laptop closed and gets to her feet. "Well I can."

I walk over to her and whisper. "Why are we angry?"

She brushes off my question and heads to the exit.

"April, Y/N, think about this," Leo tries. "It could be dangerous."

"You know what else is dangerous?" April quips back, anger dripping from her voice. "Standing between us and our father."
