The White Setting Sun

6 1 2

So this one day
I was sitting.
That's it though,
Sitting and thinking

To some this might seem like a waste of time
But it isn't
Thinking requires strength
Thinking requires courage

It means that you accept your mistakes
Understand perspectives
Criticise your actions
And then think of a way forward

While thinking you have to admit to yourself
That what you thought earlier may not be right
That what you thought earlier may be based on wrong facts
That you should be open to altering your opinion

So I sat, thinking
I watched the white sun setting,
Refusing to cover my thoughts with dark shadows that it usually throws like inviting daggers
Because it knew that I was attempting the most difficult task

As I thought about all the things that happened
In the past week
I internally thank Him

I thank Him for giving me the friends I love
The hope I have
The strength I gain
And the wounds that pain

For they are what fuel me
Keep me going
Keep me fighting, fighting for what I should have
For what I haven't got

I'm still thinking about
How all this fuel is generated
And so I sit here
And watch the white setting sun.

A/N: I know this is probably vague and out of place but i saw an actual white setting sun and it sorta inspired me..... please tell me what you think about it because it's something new that I tried.
