Chapter 1: Cats.

"Cats." Furry pets. Friends. In ancient times they were worshipped as gods. But what they are now known for is landing on their feet.

Being bad luck. But what most people do not know about is the secret to these amazing creatures. Like for one. When no one is looking, cats can secretly teleport. They are spiritual beings.

They can see into other dimensions. And they have a close connection to the goddess Sekment and the panther goddess. So much of a connection that if you look closely through some stories.

There have been some stories and legends of people gaining the abilities of these spiritual beings. The two most famous people with cat powers are comic book characters.

"DC's Catwoman and Marvel's Black Cat." And now me. My name is Willow Witmore and I would soon take a walk on the wild side. And it all had begun one snowy Christmas day.

I was seven years old and like all kids, I was ripping through those gifts with so much joy. I received so many amazing things. But the one thing that I had always wanted was to see my aunt. My mom's sister.

But she and Mom didn't always see eye to eye. It had been a while since they had last spoken. For me, it was forever. I had never met her. My mom and dad knew that I had always wanted to meet her.

So, my mom gave me a secret gift. She handed me a small box wrapped up in black and green wrapping paper. And on it was a card that said. "To my niece." Sorry that I haven't met you yet. But I want you to know that I am always thinking about you.

Which is why I am giving you this. When I opened it, inside was a green cat amulet. And the note also said. This amulet has special powers and it will protect. Always wear it. Love your auntie.

The amulet was so beautiful, it almost looked like it was made of emeralds. It was the first gift that I had ever gotten from my aunt. And I made sure that I would always wear it. And so, I did. I always wore it every day. And every year.

I loved it so much that if anyone had tried to touch it, I would hurt them. I don't know why but whenever I wore it. I felt like I had a connection with cats. So much, so that when I turned 14 my mom and dad had given my very own cat.

And I loved her so much. We just had a very special bond. But there were some moments where strange things did happen around me. Manly that I could sense other people sometimes. And that my reflexes had become sharpened.

I was one of the star athletes on some of my school's teams. But somehow, I should have known that it might have been the amulet that was doing all of this.

But I would soon find out that there was more to this amulet than meets the eye. Secrets that I would soon learn about.
