No, this can't be right. Rodrick? Out of all people him? This is officially the worst school year yet.

It takes about 15ish minutes for Mrs.Jenson to tell everyone their partners. For the last 10 minutes of class we are paired up with our partner and given our "baby"

I don't think to get up resulting in Rodrick to come sit at my desk.

Rodrick: so how is this gonna work? Is it like you get one week and I the other? Or I do weekends?

From the corner of my eye I see Mrs.Jenson walking towards Rodrick and I.

Mrs Jenson: hi guys so I know you both aren't so fond with each other but I think this will be good for the both of you.

I always had a good relationship with Mrs.Jenson, she was my English teacher freshman year before she moved to home econ. Freshman year I was very awkward and so was Jenny which seemed so odd for her, most of freshman year we ate lunch with Mrs.Jenson. So she knew all about our rivalry.

Y/n: "I hope you're right Mrs Jenson"

She shoots me a "be nice look" and I mouth "I will"

Y/n: "I guess we can switch every other week? Or everyday?"
Rodrick: "everyday sounds good"
I shove the baby into his arms
Y/n: "you get it tonight, you can give me it tomorrow morning"

The bell rings and I'm off to lunch. I meet Jenny at my car. As I'm walking towards the car I see Rodrick TRYING to talk to Heather. She looks so disgusted? Annoyed? Like she's getting second hand embarrassment is more like it. It's so pathetic that he still tries with her.

I get into the car and see Jenny in the passenger seat

Jenny: "so where are we going today?"
I put my head on the stirring wheel and mumble "I don't know you pick"
Jenny: "what's wrong with you?"
Y/n: "don't even get me started"
Jenny: "here let me drive while you tell me what's wrong"

Jenny got out the car and walked around while I just hopped into the passenger seat. We really didn't pick where we were going we just started driving. I love Jenny I never feel judged with her. I can tell her anything and she'll listen. She never makes me feel less than. I can truly be myself with her. Music was playing but it was very low so we can be able to hear it each other.

Jenny: "are you ready to tell me what's wrong?"
Y/n: "so you know how we got our partners for the baby project in home econ?"
Jenny: "yup, what about it?"
Y/n: "well I got partnered up with fucking Rodrick. I don't know why Mrs.Jenson would put us together she knows how I feel about him."
Jenny: "I know you don't want to hear this but Rodrick really isn't that bad and did you talk to Mrs.Jenson about being partnered with him?"
Y/n: "no not necessarily she came up to us and said she knows we aren't too fond of each other but she thinks it will be good for the both of us. Which I think is total bullshit I'm going to be the one stuck with the baby most of the time"
Jenny: "y/n don't look at this situation so negatively maybe you guys might befit from this project, who knows you guys can become friends by the end of it"
Y/n: "yeah in a million years"
Jenny: "y/n promise me something"
Y/n: "okay what is it?"
Jenny: "keep an open mind"
Y/n: "yeah okay"
Jenny: "y/n I'm being serious"
Y/n: "so am I"

I hadn't noticed we were parked in front of her house. I turn to her and stick out my pinky she does the same and our pinkies interlock.

Jenny: "you have to kiss on it"

I laugh and kiss my hand and she does the same. We get out the car and walk into her house. We head to the kitchen as soon as we get inside. Jenny's family had far more money than my family and that was the main reason I never fully got why Jenny still made me drive her to school. I had an old 2007 toyota Camry my car was garbage compared to hers.

Jenny: "so what do you feel like eating?"
Y/n: "do you have pizza rolls cause those will solve all my problems right now"
She laughed and said "yes I do let me put some in the oven for us"

We had an pretty long lunch, it was about 55 minutes plus 5 minutes to get to class.I walked to the living room and turned on the tv.

Y/n: "hey Jen! What should we watch?"
Jenny: "you choose!"

I go onto Hulu and pick our favorite show to watch together modern family. About 5 minutes later Jenny comes into the living room with a big plate of pizza rolls and some caprisuns.

<time skip>

When we start getting into the car Jenny goes back into the driver seat. And I back into the passenger seat

Jenny: "is it okay if I drive again?"

Jenny never really asks to drive so when she does I always let her. Since she was driving I got to play the music. Zombie by the cranberries played first, Jenny and I loved this song. At this point we were practically screaming.

After the song Jenny lowered the music.

Jenny: "so y/n since you're kinda stuck with Rodrick for a while how about you take Friday into consideration again?"
Y/n: "the löded diper thing at Ralph's?"
Jenny: "yeah cmon y/n you never go to anything like that cause of your whole rivalry with Rodrick"
Y/n: "yeah you're right I'll think about it"

You know maybe Jenny was right. It might be time to put everything with Rodrick in the past. Guess only time can tell since I'm stuck with him.
