1:43 AM
You flung open the door just in time to see Leon on the floor, pushing a dead Licker off him.
"Oh, my God," you rushed over. "Are you okay?"
"It just threw me into the wall," he inhaled sharply when you brushed your hand against his shoulder.
"No more MAG for you," you muttered. "Your shoulder can't handle the force."
"What?" He asked as you pulled the Hawk from his hands. "No fair."
"I didn't get shot," you clipped the MAG to your belt, before pulling him to his feet. "I would treat it, but I'm worried we'll be caught in a vulnerable situation if we stop."
"Yeah, you're fine. It's fine," he stared at his shoulder, rolling his arm.
"Also, thank you," you gave him a smile, which he returned, and you both continued to walk side by side to the electrical panel you had found earlier.
You pulled the little signal modulator from your hip pouch, and put it on the panel. You turned the dials until the displays looked about right, and the panel let out a beep. The lights flickered on, and you let out a sigh of relief. You walked towards another door down the hallway, and it led to some sort of dimly lit electrical room. Leon located some high-grade gunpowder, and turned to ask you for the instructions on how to make bullets. You handed him the paper, and he got to work as you walked around the room. You found him some more fuel, tossing it to him when he finished up with his shotgun shells, and a combat knife, which you also gave to him.
"Let's head to that other room," he suggested. "Back where we found the Lickers. The power's on, it should work now."
You nodded, and you exited the room, walking over two dead Lickers, and into the other room.
It was dark as shit, and had a window peeping into another lab, which was covered in frost. As you walked deeper and deeper into the room, you saw a corpse on the floor.
"Welcome back, Dr. Li. You have [5] new messages."
You walked up to the computer on the desk, and began to flick through.
"Wayne Li is responsible for plant 43," you muttered. "He dipped when they needed him most."
Leon let out a grunt of acknowledgment, before continuing onward. There was a room with hazmat suits and gas masks, and a doorway that opened into what felt like the arctic tundra.
"Who left the freezer open!?" Leon complained.
"Shit," you muttered, your naked stomach and bare arm feeling like popsicles.
Leon shivered, and you gripped yourself as you stepped deeper into the room.
"Leon," you called, teeth chattering as you pointed to a machine. "Put that capsule thing in here."
He slipped it in, and an error message appeared on the screen. You picked up some gunpowder, letting out a huff of warm air.
"We're gonna get frostbite," Leon shivered. "Let's scram."
You nodded in agreement, dashing out of the room. You left the lab, and went back into the hallway, ducking into the smaller corridor. You made your way back to the stairs, before a plant zombie jumped at you. Leon pulled the flamethrower from his back, sending it to the ground. You dashed back to the little lab you had deemed safe, and rubbed your arms, still freezing.
"We need to go back into the greenhouse," you muttered, considering just pulling off your tattered shirt.
"Yeah..." Leon began to walk back towards the door.
