I would say all of the stories broke my heart in some way but the reason for that was completely different each time. So it was hard for me to decide because I didn't want to leave anybody from this category out of podium places, especially when there were only 4 participants. So apart from the heart-breaking factor, the final call was the cleanest writing style and the technicalities. Love you all, and thank you for the amazing work put into your stories. I wish you all the best in the future!

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER by HJwritesVK (8/10)

The story is a true rollercoaster of emotions of any kind. And even though I like slow burns and hardships in stories (writing one myself) it was so stressful to see them missing each good opportunity to get together finally. Ugh! Nevertheless, the number of emotions within each chapter and the subplot was sized unevenly, so we either had a lot of emotions or not at all, and aghhh, it was hard to follow. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it for real until... the last chapter. Like what the hell had happened? I feel like absolutely everything that could happen happened in that chapter. It was a little bit too chaotic. Just as chaotic as my emotions. I was so confused and sad and shocked and well... everything. I would say the last chapter could easily participate in the best plot twist category. My heart broke a little more than just once for sure so you accomplished your task very well.

BLESSED-CURSED by nishimura_rizzi (8.5/10)

I had the courtesy to read the story for another award but this time it's for a different category. And as for the heart-breaking scenes, it was really well written, especially the few last chapters. I like how you described all the emotions and regrets, both for Bora and the other characters. How individual and pretty much different they were for both of them and how they could find a way to comfort each other. I also liked how intimate the scene was and how you cared for the details (the flower made my heart flutter a little). Also, I loved the sentence: It's fine to cry. Finally, someone recognized it as something normal. I repeat it all the time. So nice to read it also in your story. That bit got into my heart the most while reading.

Twenty-four Hours {k.hj} by WhatAtinyWorld (10/10)

Who said the heartbreak can happen only because of love? It mostly happens when our heart cannot deal with such overwhelming emotions and that is what was perfectly depicted in this story. It is really lyrical, well written, and just sets the right mood each time you open a new chapter. Your way of writing spoke to me on a spiritual level and touched my heart just right to almost feel like my heart has been broken. Sometimes it's not the saddest thing that made you ache, sometimes it's some kind of helplessness, tiredness that nothing can be done, or that we committed to the path we don't want to follow anymore. Idk how you did it but I just felt like that. Even if I and Hongjoong you depicted here are quite different personas I still got emotional. So congrats! It was a pleasure to read!

Also, I loved the idea for the chapter titles!

Knock At The Cabin: In the Woods by Ashleyaesthetic (9/10)

That's an exciting thing about this book. I liked the plot and how the story unveils, I loved the character's descriptions and how they acted throughout the story. The flow of the story and action was just right. I felt a lot of emotions, it was creepy most of the time, pretty dark and you created an amazing atmosphere of uncertainty, maybe even a subconscious fear. I tried to find something really heartbreaking inside this story that will move me the most and I believe it was the relationship between Taekook. The way they spoke to each other in reassuring but also tragic words in so many different challenging situations they were up to in this story. That really got me. I loved how you depicted their bond and losing it would turn into the biggest heartbreak for them and also for us as readers. And that feeling accompanied me through the whole story but there was no particular scene that would make me freeze completely. Maybe for the better because it would most definitely end me. Congratulations on the amazing story.
