*Ame POV*

"Ah, Ms.Watson, welcome! The usual, I assume?" The barista asks, smiling at me.

"Yes, thank you," I say, as I take the coffee and sit down at my usual table.

Ah, I just realized that I forgot to introduce myself, sorry about that. My name is Amelia Watson, but most people just call me Ame! I'm an up and coming detective, and my boss said that there's an important job he has for me. I should be getting a report any minute now.

As I sit down, I sip my coffee as I pull out my laptop. And almost as if he knew, as soon as I open my laptop, I receive an email from my boss.

"Dear Ms.Watson:
Good morning dear, I hope this is reaching you well. As you know, I have a very important assignment for you. I have attached the report below, make sure to read it carefully. If you choose to accept this, then simply reply to this message. Good day, dear!"

Ugh, why does he insist on calling me dear? If he wasn't my boss, I'd never talk to him. But whatever, let's take a look at this report of his...

Hmm... mythological creatures? Hololive Academy? Interesting... very interesting. These rumors are quite intriguing, I must say.

I'll admit, this has piqued my interest. A group of non humans, hidden amongst a group of normal school students. This could be the case of the century... I'm definitely in. I did enjoy not having to go to school while it lasted... but if I want to get more info, I'll have to go undercover.

So I reply to my boss, simply saying I'm in. As I close the laptop, I walk back over the barista, and hand her my payment.

"Alright, the new job's in. I'll be gone for a while, don't get too lonely without me, eh?" I ask jokingly, causing her to blush.

"Ooh, you're a real charmer, aren't you? I'll admit, I'll miss my favorite customer, but I'll get over it. Good luck on your case, Ms.Detective!" she says, smiling.

"Thanks mam, see you later," I say as I leave her an extra tip and head out, taking my bike back to my apartment. When I get in, I begin immediately packing my belongings. I'll probably have to live on campus, so I'll only need to take the bare essentials with me.

"Woof woof!" I hear Bubba bark from behind as I'm packing.

"Oh, hey Bubba. We're going to be moving for a while, I hope that's okay with you, buddy!" I exclaim, patting him on the head. He simply licks my face in return, I'm guessing that means he's okay with it.

"We've just gotta wait a few days for the boss to get all the paperwork all sorted out, then I'll officially be a student of Hololive Academy. Apparently all the dorm rooms fit two people, I wonder who my my roommate will be..." I begin muttering out loud, to no one in particular. Bubba just looks at me like he's confused.

"Oh I'm just talking to myself at this point, don't mind me boy. I'm sure you're hungry, right? Let's get you fed!" I exclaim, causing him to get very excited.
I get the can, and give him the food, which he eats up very quickly.

"Well, I'm glad you're happy. I'm going to go do some extra research on this school while I wait for the go ahead to start. I'll be busy for a while buddy, so please don't disturb me, okay?" I ask him, but he just ignores me and continues eating.

"I'll take that as an okay, enjoy your meal, Bubba," I say as I retreat to room to begin studying up.

*A few days later, near Hololive Academy*

Alright, my boss got all the paperwork done, so I'm officially a student at the prestigious Hololive Academy.

Haven't been in the school system since I was about 10 years old, that's when my boss discovered me and took me into the agency. Said I had a natural gift for detective work, so I've been his go to girl in the agency since then. My parents are always too busy traveling to really look after me, so I've been doing that pretty much on my own for a few years now.

I have my suitcase in one hand, and Bubba's leash on another. I'm sure he's happy for this exercise, I can't say I am. I had to bike all the way here with him in a little side carriage, and let me tell you, that wasn't fun. But, I'm close to the school now, so I dropped my bike off at a bike rack and began walking the rest of the way.

As I'm walking, I begin taking in the sights around me. This town is actually very beautiful, I'm not used to working in such... pristine conditions. The plants are in full bloom, and it's very, very green. It's refreshing, honestly, to not be fully surrounded by grey concrete, I like the color the plant life in this town seems to bring.

As I'm looking at the scenery, I fail to pay attention to the ground, and trip on a rock. As I land, I accidentally let go of Bubba's leash, and the sudden impact frightens Bubba enough to where he begins running away.

"Bubba, stop! Get back here!" I yell, as I get up and begin sprinting after him, leaving my suitcase behind. My dog is more important than my luggage!

"Please Bubba, stop! Come here Bubba, C'mere!" I try doing baby speak to get him to return, but of course, it doesn't work. I manage to get closer to him, and dive at him to catch him. I just barely miss, but I notice that someone picks him up in front of me. I look up, and all I'm met with is seemingly a woman's legs.

"Don't worry, I got him for you. Are you okay? You took a pretty nasty fall there!" I hear the woman ask. As I get up, and look at the woman who caught Bubba, and I'm met with a beautiful orange haired girl in a school uniform. So she must be from the Hololive Academy, I'd assume.

"Thank you Miss, I'm fine, I've taken worse," I says as I dust myself off and take Bubba back from the mysterious orange haired beauty.

"That's good. I haven't seen you around here, are you new? I'm Takanashi Kiara, but you can just call me Kiara," Kiara says, reaching her hand out to me.

"Oh, I'm Amelia Watson... you can just call me Ame though," I explain, as I use my free hand to shake hers.

"Amelia Watson? You mean the detective prodigy?" She asks, seemingly knowing who I was.

"Yeah... how'd you know that?" I ask, now slightly suspicious.

"You're kind of a celebrity. A girl who began her detective work at the age of ten, a girl who excels at cases that stump most adults? That takes some seriously special talent," she praises, causing me to blush in embarrassment.

"Oh it's nothing really... but thank you for the compliment. Oh shit, I dropped my luggage back there, I need to go grab that. Again, thank you for stopping Bubba for me, don't know what I would've done if I lost the little guy," I sincerely thank her.

"You're very welcome. I hope to see you again, Ms.Watson... oops, I mean Ame!" She says as she heads in the opposite direction. As I begin walking back to my luggage, I can't help but feel like there's something more to that woman than I could see at first glance... I probably have to keep an eye on her.
