*A/N: Happy Birthday Kiara!*

*Ame POV*

"Hey, get up. Come on, you don't want to be late on your first day," I hear a voice tell me, as I yawn and stretch my arms.

"Huh? Oh, Kiara... good morning," I say, hiccuping.

"Morning. You have your schedule, correct?" Kiara asked me.

"*hic* Of course I do. Ugh, these hics are annoying... wait, where's Calli?" I ask, noticing that she's gone.

"Oh, she had to leave early to go change in her room. Hey, can I see your schedule for a second? I want to see if we have any of the same classes!" Kiara exclaims, excited.

"Sure, it's in my bag... I've gotta get dressed, I'll be right back," I say, grabbing my uniform from my bag and heading to the bathroom.

As I'm getting changed, I take a second to look at the burn scar on my leg. I'll be honest, I don't even remember how I got this scar, I was probably cooking or something.

As I put my uniform on, I take this second to just think about things. My mission here is to investigate mythical anomalies, but honestly, everyone I've met so far has seemed odd. I can't really place a finger on it, but it's just some feeling I have. I don't like thinking of them like that, but it's kinda my job here. I'm here on a mission, I have to remember that.

"Hey! You almost done in there? You're gonna be late! I've gotta go, but oh yeah, we share 2nd period and lunch, so see you then!" I hear Kiara say, as I hear her leave.

When I finish getting changed, I exit the restroom and pick up my schedule that Kiara left on the counter. I notice Bubba is eating at his bowl. It doesn't seem to be any of the food I brought with me, so did Kiara feed him? It looks like he's eating some chicken, and his water bowl is full. Well, I'll have to thank her for that later.

"Alright Bubba, I'm gonna be going, alright? I'll be back for dinner time, don't break anything while I'm gone!" I exclaim at my dog, who only spares a glance at me before going back to eating. I take a few folders, a few notebooks, and a binder with me, and I notice I have gym, so I bring a pair of gym shorts and a sports bra with me. Then I grab my detective journal, and head out to my first class.

The first class is trigonometry, wow, what a way to start my day... I mean it's not the worst thing ever, but it sure isn't fun. We seem to be in the middle of a lesson, but my boss had kept me up with my studies, so I'm not coming in blind.

The professor has me introduce myself to the class, and everyone just gives a generic welcome, then I find an empty seat and take out a notebook and mark it as my Math notebook.

But the whole class, I feel like someone's watching me from the corner of the room. But the only girl in that corner is some brunette girl, and whenever I look at that corner, she's paying attention to the professor, and showing no signs of looking at me. I must just be imagining it, I do have a bad habit of being overly paranoid.

Eventually the class ends, and I quickly gather my stuff and dart to my next class, gym. I enter the gymnasium, and it seems like I'm the first girl there.

"Ah, you're the new girl! A detective has gotta be physically fit, correct? I'm optimistic that you'll do good here. Oh yeah, where are my manners? I'm your gym teacher, call me J-Chad. You're Ms. Watson, correct? I sure hope I'm not talking to the wrong girl!" The woman who's apparently the gym teacher says.

"*hic* Yep, I'm Amelia Watson, I'm excited to be here-"

"AME!!!" I hear from my side, as I'm tackled to the ground.
