It was morning and they had made all preparation, Ivie was to be staying with her aunt's colleague and friend Mabel, pending her arrival
"Aunt Maris are you sure I can't come with you" Ivie asked feeling sad and worried she was going to be alone.
"Honestly I would want that but this is going to be my first time meeting his people I just don't want to put you through any inconveniences" she explained. Ivie quite understood fully her reasons.
"Don't worry I will be back before you knew it and you aren't going to be bored, Mabel's help and nephew Are there so you won't worry about not having companies you can easily related to" she explained as she held Ivie's hand fondly as the walked out of the compound to get a bus heading toward Mabel's house
Thet got to the junction and entered a tricycle which took them to the compound after giving the driver a proper description.
She pushed open the pedestrian gate and proceeded to ring the door bell.
"Mabel" Maris called as she rang the bell for the second time
The door swinged open and a petite dark girl girl probably in her late teen answered with a knowing smile and happily ran into the waiting arms of her aunt
"Where is Mabel" she asked asked as she patted her hair fondly
"Let me get my aunt for you"she proceeded to the door hurriedly but before she could open it door, it swinged open and Mabel appeared with her phone in her right hand as she typed furiously on it,she looked up from her phone and exhaled in relief
"Thank Goodness you are here I was about calling you" she said as she move towards them.
"Hi beautiful, is this your niece" Mabel asked as she fondle her cheek playfully
"Yes, this is ivie" she affirmed
"Your welcome, have heard so much about you" and this time she took Ivie in a side hug.
"And I just hope they are nice things oh" she asked playfully as she looked from aunt Maris to Mabel quizzically
"Yes of course they are" she said laughing
"Ivie this is Mabel my co-worker and best friend ,you going to be staying with her till I'm back ok? So be good"
"Of course,you know am always well behaved " ivie answered
"I trust you on that" she said and they hi-five, then exchanged hug for the last time.
"Alright I will call joy and Asher to show you in, would have done so but I'm almost late for work"she said as she peeped at her phone to get an idea of the time
"Asher, Asher" she called out loudly
"This boy" she muttered under her breath
"Joy!!!"
"Coming ma" her voice rang out
"This is Ivie aunt Maris niece, please take good care of her and keep her company, show her to her room, also tell Asher to please be nice" she said as she and Maris made their way out of the compound.
"Ivie you are welcome" she said as she led her into the house walking towards the room prepared specially for her,she was happy she now has company although temporary, not that grumpy little cat called Asher
"Wow this is a lovely place and your hair is so beautiful" Ivie complimented as she looked around the mini duplex
"Thanks"
"I use a couple of hair products that are so nice" she continued
"I have tried several things on mine but it seems not to be working so I'm opting on relaxing it"
