It been a month since aunt Maris returned from visiting Marc's people and she had wished she never went.
They all were behaving friendly and nice to her.she had thought all was well not until a night before their departure when she overheard his mum urging him to do away with her because she seems too old and might not be fertile enough to bear children and above all she wasn't from their tribe.
She felt her limbs go numb but she had to force herself to move before being caught evesdropping,she hadn't mean to but when she was returning from the bathroom where she had gone to take a leak she heard her name being mentioned in hushed tone and curiousity has taken the better part of her...
Few days after their return he still pretend all was ok but she could noticed how distant he was and how he blamed it on stress,she however decided to give him benefit of doubt.
Two weeks later she caught him pants down with a girl in his sitting room when she had gone to inquire why he hasn't been picking her calls, she was devastated, it really broke her when she over heard him telling the girl she was some crazy desperate ex who refused to get over him and move on.
The image of that awful scene had registered in her head till date,she shook her head sorrowfully but not a single tears was shed.
She was done grieving and vowed to stay off men, maybe it was her fate to die single if not what explanation will she give for all her failed relationship which in most case always pass through the courtship phase but gets aborted few months to the D day
"Ivie"she thought
What was wrong with her? she has been behaving strangely these days and something is definitely going on but she couldn't place her hand on it. just yesterday she had dozed off in the kitchen and not even the strong smell of burning food could wake her . A day before then she had watched her threw up all she had eaten that day
She decided to go check up on her because she had complained of fever this morning and she had given her some drugs to calm it down.
Ivie"she called softly as she entered into her room
"Ma" she replied weakly
She walked to her bed and sat on it,then with the back of her palm she examined her temperature
Her temperature ought to have return to normal or at least gone down a bit but instead it remains persistent.
God,it shouldn't be what she is thinking,she has been too scared to confirm her fear.she stared at her niece and shook her head slowly, telegony has once again proven itself
Her own mother had gotten pregnant at age fifteen and she at nineteenth when she was just in 200level in the university.
She shuddered as the memories of the past came crashing heavily on her,she recalled with dread how he had promised her heaven on earth only for him to travel abroad and four months later all communication with him ceased because she couldn't get through with him.
She decided to confirm her fear before taking drastic measures.
" Ivie" she called as she tapped her gently,
" Yes" she answered weakly
" Please try and eat something ok? I will go get medications from the pharmacy across"she said patting her back
"Ivie nodded weakly"she wondered what exactly was wrong with her,she shook her head vehemently when the thought of her last encounter with James.
He had come visiting when her aunt was away,they excitement of seeing eachother again after one whole long week was so intriguing that the moment he set his eyes on her,his lips came crashing hungrily on her.one thing led to another and the deed was done.
