TW/CW: Slight mentions of assault and rape.
January 2nd, 9:03 am, year 851. Present time, inside wall Sina...
Levi watched as his horses ears flicked around at each sound. The delicate creature listening for danger, expressing when he was listening and not. The dark gelding strode ahead of Hanges horse maturely, leading the pack.
Levi remembered when he first met the horse, the same time he met (Y/n) for the first time. All those years ago, Levi had only been 19. However he still remembered it clearly.
He remembered the hardness of the ground when the horse had thrown him, Levi didn't know the first thing about riding.
He remembered getting scolded by his now wife, about what not to do.
"you don't just flail your arms and slap the reins on your horses neck, no that will just make you look like an idiot." She had said after watching his sad attempt at riding.
Levi's lip twitched from the memory.
He remembered how they had been so ticked off at each other at first. Bickering back and forth, he had been so stubborn as to not even tell her his name right up until he left.
Levi watched his horse move. The same horse she sold him, the one she had recommended. Turns out she had a pretty good eye at that kind of thing. He remembered how gentle she was with the creatures, always giving them rewards after missions.
Levi almost chuckled aloud at the fact he had a carrot in his pocket, turns out she had influenced him.
He missed her, badly.
Looking back ahead, he watched as they entered town. Soon enough, able to find the building Dex had told them about, the small pharmacy.
It was a quiet town, not a whole lot going on. The building itself looked like it had seen better days. Vines and cracks snaked their way around the whole thing, a thick layer of dirt and dust coating every inch.
Levi's attention turned to his right as Hange jumped off her horse, tying it up nearby. Swinging his leg over, Levi followed in suit. Slipping a tiny piece of carrot into the animals mouth, cringing when his hand got slobbered on.
"Alright. Are we good cop bad copping this thing?" Hange asked, taking her horses girth down a couple notches.
"I'm here to get information, I don't care how." He replied, digging through his bag.
Eventually coming up with what he was searching for, he pulled the small pistol out from under his coat. Slipping a few bullets inside.
"Okay well I think-" Hange turned around, "Jesus Levi!" She rushed over, shoving the gun back under Levi's jacket. "You can't just pull that out right here! We're in the middle of town! Let's at least attempt to look normal?"
Levi rolled his eyes, "I need information, and I need it now."
"Yes, I'm aware." Hange gestured around dramatically, "but let's try to approach nicely at first. If he doesn't comply, then you can do your little threat games with him."
He sighed in return, "Whatever." Placing the pistol back into its strap.
Hollow steps echoed their way up the wooden stairs that wrapped around the side of the building. Raising her hand up, Hange knocked a cheerful tune onto the door.
Rolling his eyes at her immaturity, Levi shoved his hands into his pockets.
What felt like an eternity later, the door opened.
