The giant see monster charged Jack. It was fast. So fast, that even in his merman form, Jack couldn't outswim it. It moved through the water as though it were a torpedo. Much quicker than him. But he could handle turns better. While Bonnessie handled them about as well as a large SUV.
"Ooo-hay-ooo, HI-aa." Nimue chanted. And the water before her outstretched right hand started coalescing, forming into a ball. "Ooo-hay-ooo, HI-aa. Ooo-hay-ooo, HI-aa. She continued chanting. "Hah!" she then yelled at the top of her lungs. Firing the ball of water right at Jack.
Had he been in his human form, he would've never been able to dodge it. But in his merman form, he moved like a... some very quick fish.
The ball of hardened concentrated water struck the wall behind him, taking out of it a chunk about the size of his head. It was close! Not just for him, but for Bonnessie as well. Maybe he could use that to his advantage.
But no, the water nymph was too smart for that. "Rit," She yelled waving her hand to the right. And the water around him turned to the right with it. She immediately followed this with a "Hah!" turning her hand toward him. And the water followed her hand. "Tir." She yelled waving her hand to the left. and then yelled, "Ummm." pulling her hand back. The water continued to follow her hand movements as she chanted again and again. "Rit Hah! Tir Ummm. Rit Hah! Tir Ummm. Rit Hah! Tir Ummm."
The speed of the whirlpool increased with each chant. Faster and faster. And Jack who was now trapped within the middle of it, tried his best to escape, to no avail.
Nimue continued chanting adding "HI-aa." at the end of it. "Rit Hah! Tir Ummm. HI-aa. Rit Hah! Tir Ummm. HI-aa. Rit Hah! Tir Ummm. HI-aa."
The water's pressure increased more and more, turning the whirlpool into a giant blender. A giant blender that Jack couldn't escape. The current was way too strong. And worse, it was now ripping him apart, turning the water around him red with his own blood. He needed to get out of this death-trap somehow. But that was impossible, the pressure was far too strong. And it only got stronger the closer he got to the whirlpool's edge.
The spinning was starting to make him noxious now as well. And that made it difficult for him to even think. He had to do something! But nothing he could do was of any use. He couldn't get out, without being grounded into fish food.
But maybe... maybe. He was moving way too fast to get a clear shot at Nimue. But maybe he could try to at least distract her concentration. Bonnesie was as big as a house. There was no way in hell he could miss that. Right? Although with the speed of the current, it was difficult to get a clear shot at anything really.
It wasn't as simple as just reaching down to grab his gun though. The current was way too strong, it wouldn't let him. It was way too strong for him to even try to fight against. He worked with it instead. It took a few tries, but the third try was the charm. He grabbed ahold of his Heckler & Koch P11 and fired at the giant plesiosaur.
The dart fired from the gun, hitting the edge of the whirlpool, vaporizing it instantly. Shit! He didn't have a backup plan either. Nor did he really have time to think up one.
Would this really be his end? Maybe. But not without trying all he could to get out first. He fired again. This time pushing the barrel of his gun through the edge of the whirlpool.
Like the dart before, the barrel of the gun was vaporized; but not before getting out one shot. The chances of that one shot not only getting the monster's attention, but also getting it to attack however, was very unlikely. He would need to be very lucky. Luckily luck was one thing that he had in spades thanks to the Magatama around his neck.
