"Hey," Louis smiled, snuggling up to Harry lying on their couch.

"Hey," Harry smiled back and wrapped his arms lovingly around his husband.

"So, do you know what day is tomorrow?" Louis asked innocently.

"Hmm let me think..." Harry pursed his lips. "Just kidding," he lightly chuckled then. "Of course I know, how could I forget our day?" He stroked Louis' hair and pressed a kiss on his temple.

"What do you want to do for our anniversary then?" Louis asked, nudging into his husband's touch.

"Honestly?" Harry twisted a strand of Louis' caramel-coloured hair between his fingers. "Nothing special. Just be with you."

"Sounds good, let's cook something and just spend our time together."

"Yeah," Harry agreed, "let's do that."

The aroma of the vegetables in the pan swirled around as the two husbands slow-danced around in the kitchen to their favourite tunes, their laughters echoing through the room, their hearts leaping happily.

"Sometimes I still can't believe that you actually chose me," Harry whispered into Louis' ear, hugging him from behind and pulling him close to him.

"I have great taste, you know..." Louis' whispered back, looking over his shoulder and searching for Harry's mouth.

Harry smirked and closed the gap between them, still smirking into the kiss. "All these years and you still get how to make the butterflies rise in my stomach," he mumbled against Louis' lips after pulling away from him again.

"I love you."

"Love you too, H." Louis pressed a last kiss on Harry's pink lips. "Let's eat our meal, shall we?" He asked and went towards the table with the pans of rice and curry and vegetables in his hands. He had spread dried rose petals on the table before, wanted to make everything as romantic as possible, knowing Harry loved that.

"Yes," Harry answered, seating himself down opposite Louis.

Their conversations flowed effortlessly, only interrupted by short moments of appreciative silence as they savoured each bite. The flavours of their shared favourite meal danced in harmony on their tongues, leaving a lasting impression of joy and fulfilment.

As they finished eating they still stayed at the table, enjoying the afterglow of an amazing meal. Satisfied and content, they smiled at each other, knowing that what they had was unique and beautiful and they felt incredibly lucky that they never listened to all the ones who had not believed in their relationship.
