Puddles splashed beneath Riley's boots as she ran, desperately trying to make it to the auto shop before Allison did. She knew her though, and Allison would have already found a way to get a hold of a car, which meant that there was every chance she was already there.
Riley didn't think that she had been this scared since she had been in high school. All she knew was that she needed to find Aayla. Riley would die before she let anything happen to her daughter.
She'd gotten out of the car much closer to the auto shop than she'd thought, seeing it in the distance. Her blood ran cold when she saw two cars on fire out the front. Seeing this only made the woman run faster.
As she reached the shop she almost slipped when she attempted to slow down. Steadying herself, Riley opened the door as quietly as possible and went inside.
The woman tried to use her enhanced hearing but Allison was trained to move without making noise and wherever Eli was, he was managing to keep Aayla quiet too. While she wasn't a fan of the situation, she appreciated him protecting her daughter.
Moving further into the garage she took careful steps, aware that Allison wouldn't need enhanced hearing to know that she was coming. Riley turned a couple of corners but had no luck.
She was about to move to the next set of cars when she felt something touch her shoulder. The woman almost yelped until the person put a hand over her mouth. Looking up, Riley saw Eli inside a car that was on the lift so that Derek could look at the undercarriage.
Eli moved aside slightly to reveal Aayla sitting behind him. The girl's eyes lit up when she saw her mother, crawling past her cousin.
Riley reached up and grabbed onto her daughter, removing her from the car and holding her tight as she sunk down to her knees. She pulled her back enough that she could wipe the young girl's tear-stained cheeks. Kissing her forehead, Riley drew her close to her chest, trying to remain quiet so that Allison wouldn't hear them.
At this point, Eli had climbed out of the car also, kneeling down beside Riley. He leaned over enough to look beneath a car, trying to find Allison. Eli then quickly sat up, looking at the woman beside him as he pointed. Allison was there.
The two of them began to move, crawling as quickly as they could towards the exit, Riley doing so with Aayla in her arms. She couldn't help but notice the limp that Eli had, as well as the scratch across his face. They hadn't been lying when they'd said that Eli couldn't heal yet.
As they moved, the woman used her enhanced hearing to try and keep track of Allison now that she knew that she was in the room. It had been one of the only parts of her ability that she trained, the skill coming in handy when she needed to listen out for her daughter.
