drumming her fingers to the beat of 'see you again' by tyler the creator, billie was on her way to the library. if she was being honest she didn't really have a reason to be here, when she woke up she just decided she would just go for the fun of it.

it shouldn't be packed because it was a random tuesday and honestly the library was never packed. people were too busy staring at their phone screens to even think about going to one nowadays.

she pulled into the parking lot, and saw an unfamiliar car she had never seen here before.

something in her hoped that it was avery.

the sound of a bell ringing was made as billie walked through the door of her favourite library. the friendly old lady's head shot in billie's direction as she sent her a sweet smile and welcomed her once again.

billie thanked her with a smile before heading to the usual table she would sit at when she came here.

she would usually sit down and begin reading her book in this exact spot, but today was different.

the same charming girl she had met yesterday was sitting in the seat that she basically assigned to herself.

when she felt a presence, avery looked up and smiled when she saw those same eyes with a charming smile.

''hi'" avery was the first person to speak up and billie smiled when she heard her voice. if she was being honest she had missed the sound of it.

''hey... can I sit here?' billie asked and even though this was her spot, she wouldn't mind sharing it with her.

''yeah of course!'' avery said and billie pulled in the chair right next to her before taking a seat in it.

both girls sat in silence as they read, it wasn't an awkward silence either.... it was a comfortable one at that. they would both steal glances at each other occasionally when they thought the other wasn't looking.

avery eyes landed on the blue book in billies hands and she smiled when she saw that it was the same book she was reading.

''i see you got the book you wanted at first'' avery said as she glanced at the book one last time before turning her attention back to billie, who was already looking at her with a smile.

''yeah, i had to steal it from my mom though'' avery chuckled making billie do the same

that might become one of billie's favourite tunes. it was so contagious and charming

''how's the read?'' avery asked

''pretty good... i actually never knew the ocean takes up 71 percent of the earths surface" billie always found herself rambling when she talked about any book she was reading.

"really? that's kinda cool" avery said and billie nodded with a smile.

"i've always wanted to go to one before... you know before i grow old" avery said and billie could have sworn her mood slightly changed, but she chose to not bring it up.

"if we stay friends, i'll take you some time" billie said and avery's eyes lit up and bright smile spread across her face.

"promise?" avery asked as she stuck out her pinky.

billie chuckled before sticking out her pinky and interlocking it with avery's.  avery pulled a pen out of her pocket as she unlocked their fingers, before grabbing billie's palm and writing something on it.

billie looked down and saw that some digits with
"'avery (:'" on top of it was written on her palm. she looked back up at avery and chuckled.

"is that you're number?" billie asked referring to what she had written in her palm.

"yeah, so we can stay in contact" avery said in a 'duh' tone before chuckling.

billie just nodded before avery's phone went off and she smiled before frowning at billie.

"i have to go... but i'll text you okay?" avery said as she began gathering her things next to a now frowning billie.

"okay... see you again?" billie asked as she closed her book before standing up and pushing her chair in.

"see you again"  avery said with a smile.
