- So I found out last week that I'm making a move across the country- Montana to New Hampshire, so not only will I not be posting anything from June 25th to July, on a more personal note, me and my girlfriend have to explore the possibility of a long distance relationship.

This move is going to be pretty hard on me so I might not even be in the right place to write after July. So if that ends up being the case, I'm sorry.

Ryan stood there, the water sloshing around him, slack jawed.

"What was that??" He asked.

"What was what??" I replied, trying to sound innocent. There was no way he didn't see that. I had almost attacked him with my magic.

I nearly dragged him underwater!

"That glowy thing you just did with your hands!!"

"I can't do glowy things with my hands! Are you crazy?"

Yes Willow. Gaslight. Do exactly what Luz taught you. Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss.

Ryan touched his ears, and pointed at us accusingly.

"It all makes sense now! You guys aren't human at all!"

Neither Hunter nor I answered. We exchanged nervous looks, not having any idea what to say or do. Damn my fight or flight reflexes were too good.

So as Hunter and I stayed completely silent, Ryan went on.

"Your ears, your scars- what's a palisman?? The fact that both of you popped up out of nowhere at school and then just disappeared- Hunter, your dad. What are you doing here? Where are you from??"

It was a natural response to freak out like this. The most important thing we had to specify however, was that we weren't here to hurt him or anything like that.

"Okay- don't freak out," I took a breath in and sighed. "We can explain everything but- later."

"No, I am freaking out. I would like to know now." He paused. "If that's... convenient for you."

I looked over at Hunter who gave me a nod. Then he took a step closer to Jackson, ready to explain.

"Willow and I are uhm, witches. From the Boiling Isles. Which is, not in your realm if that makes sense."

Ryan was now nervously running his fingers through his moppy hair. "What realm is it in then??"

Should we really answer that? The demon realm can sound pretty scary when you first hear about it.

"The demon realm.." Hunter answered.

Ryan nodded wearily.

"We disappeared from school because we sort of had to go... save it. We were kind of trapped here since August and after we found a way to get back home, I moved back there, where I belong."

"Then why does Hunter still go to our school in Gravesfield?"

"'Cause uh-"

Hunter put a hand on my shoulder, stopping me.

"There was nothing really for me on the Boiling Isles. I mean there were a few people, but there were a lot of bad memories there. And Camila, Luz and my other sister Vee, are like my family. So I stayed here with them."

It seemed like it was started to make sense to Ryan. I couldn't believe we were just telling him this stuff. It wasn't easy to explain, he better not tell anyone.

Hunter continued to explain things to the best of his ability. "Palismen are like pets, that are carved out of the wood of a palismen tree and brought to life. They also make up our staffs. Flapjack is my palismen."
