Season 1 episode 1

Being Milo Murphy's twin sister was hard. I had spent my whole life in his shadow. I knew that Milo didn't want the limelight, or the attention that came with Murphy's law. So despite Milo's weird bad luck I stayed by his side. We were twins after all. And plus life was a hole lot more interesting with Milo around. Despite the fact that I'm rarely important, I stick around. I woke up to my musty green walls and looked over to the window. There was no tree or lamppost hanging through it, which still weirds me out despite being in my own bedroom for a few years now. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail, and grabbed my satchel. I opened the door looking around. I saw a picture begin to fall. I grabbed the photo and set it aside as my brother opened his door smiling widely. Milo had always been the optimistic one of us.
"Milo," I said, frowning as more photos fell.
"Right, sorry," Milo said, quickly grabbing them and setting them down. I chuckled and led the way down stairs. grabbed a quick breakfast before heading out the door. Once outside the light fixture fell to the ground shattering. Milo stepped out of the way just in time. I frowned , following him forward.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the bus stop a black kid with dark hair and brown eyes waited silently. He shrugged and looked over to see me and Milo walking up. We reached the new kid chatting loudly. As soon as we did, everyone stepped away from us like usual. But the kid stayed where he was studying us.
"What's that all about?," He asked us
"Oh you're new here," Milo said
"He's got a bit of a reputation" I said smirking
"So what, are you a tough guy?," The boy asked smiling
"Oh I don't think anyone's ever called me tough," Milo said
"Rude," I coughed loudly.
"Right one persons called me tough," Milo corrected
"I'm Mila and this is my twin Milo," I said to the boy
"I'm Zack" he said, shaking Milo's hand and nodding at me. The people behind us let out whispers of fright. Zack shook his head. I rolled my eyes.
"So what exactly is this reputation?," Zack asked us
"Well people have used the j-word," Milo said
"But you know what they say," I continued
"Sticks and stones can damage your vital organs so always wear body armor," Milo finished. Melissa walked up to us, staying at a safe distance.
"Hey Melissa", Milo said
"Hey Chase", I said, stepping around my brother to meet her.
"Hey Murphy twins," she said looking around
"I'm just gonna stand back here" Melissa finished taking a step backwards.
"Good call," Milo said. I nodded as Melissa took a step away from Milo.
"So how was your weekend?," She asked us.
"Eventful," Milo said
"Yeah I'll bet"
"We got matching scars," I said, showing Melissa my elbow.
"Here," Milo said, sending Melissa a photo of his. Melissa smiled comparing the two.
"Wow, see I knew it would happen," she said
"Yeah yeah I know," I said, handing Melissa a dollar.
"Alright seriously you two what's going on here?," Zack asked, fed up.
"What do you mean?," Milo asked. I smiled, sometimes my brother could be so oblivious.
"I mean what is all of this? And what is Nothe J word?," Zack finished saying
"Well I don't like to say it out loud but," Milo was cut off by an orange rope landing by Zacks foot.
"Huh it's," Zack started but Milo and I were already clipping our helmets on.
"Hey where did you get the" Zack started saying. Before looking to see a concert drainage pipe barreling towards them. Milo stuck a helmet on his head and we started running.
"I bet my pudding pack we don't see them until lunch" Bradley said
"I'll take that action" Melissa said
"Really?"he asked
"Yeah,are you kidding? Those two are tough. As a matter of fact I'll see your pudding pack and raise you a snickerdoodle, or are you just all talk?" Melissa asked, pulling out a bag of snickerdoodles.
"Woah" one boy said
"She just called you out," another boy said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were chased down the road by the pipe with Zack screaming loudly.
"Wait, why aren't you two screaming?," He asked confused
"We find it doesn't help just hurts the larynx," I explained
"Hand me that bungee and you might wanna hang on," Milo siad
I nodded, handing him the bungee. I then grabbed Zack's hand and grabbed my brother's backpack. Zack hung on tight to my hand scared to death.
"Okaaaaay," Zack screamed as we swung onto a street lap and the bungee broke in half causing us to fall and start running on the pipe.
"That bungee was definitely defective," Milo siad
"Here," I shouted, pulling an orange bungee out of my bag.
"Thanks Mila," Milo said as he took the bungee and sung them onto a lamp post. We slide down, sighing.
"Murphy's law, boom," I joked as our dog came up following us from behind.
"No Diogee! Go home," Milo told him.
"Silly dog", I laughed. But soon the pipe kept chasing us and we begun falling down a hill when the pipe stopped rolling causing us to fall in the mud. Me and Milo looked upwards.
"You might wanna slide over this way a bit" Milo said as I grabbed Zack and slid over to Milo. The pipe fell down shooting us out to the top.
"The J word wouldn't happen to be Jinx, would it?", Zack asked, annoyed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back at the bus stop we hurriedly tried to catch the bus with no luck.
"No,no,nononono! Wait,wait,wait! Oh man. I'm gonna miss my first day at the new school my parents are gonna flip out!," Zack panicked
"Don't worry! Our dad always says, "What doesn't kill ya only makes ya late for school," Milo siad
"So I don't think we're gonna miss the whole day," I finished. Diogee barked from behind us.
"No! Diogee, run home! We're going to school," Milo exclaimed, sending Diogee away.
"Plus, if we catch the bus at the next stop, we may not even be late," I said, taking out my phone which was covered in mud.
"Don't worry I got the bus route marked on my GP... S. It must have gotten wet when we fell in the mud but...," Milo said, taking his phone out.
"Fear not!," I said, pulling out a paper map and handing it to Milo.
"Paper map! Old school," Milo said as the map was taken by an eagle.
"Huh? Heh. Don't worry! We remember the way. This has happened before!," I said
"This has happened before? This exact thing?!," Zack asked even more frustrated than before. We began running.
"We'll beat them to the next stop. We'll just have to go through the rock quarry," Milo explained as we ran.
"Rock quarry? Sure. What could possibly go wrong?," Zack asked as I shook my head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the rock quarry there was an oil spill. We studied the spill as an employee was preventing us from going across.
"Sorry, kids. There's a little oil spill, as you can see. It's quite a mess so nobody's getting through today," the employee explained to the three of us.
"I think we can still make it across. We brought galoshes", Milo said, nodding towards me.
"I didn't," Zack reminded us.
"I've got an extra pair. And they're hazmat rated for a level 4 biohazard,"  I said, pulling them out.
"Well, I don't think...," the employee started
"Here's the certificates from the EPA", Milo said showing the employee.
"What are you? A nine? Nine and a half," I asked Zack.
"Well, it's notarized, so I suppose if you ...," the employee started but the eagle appeared again, holding the paper map until it was shocked by electricity. It dropped the map on the oil spill. The entire oil spill suddenly set on fire and set the entire road ablaze.
"Called it," I said, pulling out my notebook and checking fire off.
"I know, I know," Milo said, handing me a 5 dollar bill.
"We should go through the woods," I said as we left the rock quarry behind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were running through the woods when we stopped looking around.
"So do you even know where we are?," Zack asked us.
"Yeah, the fire's dried out my phone. We are right in the middle of Coyote Woods," Milo siad
"Wait, Coyote Woods? I've got a thing about coyotes. They're like big dogs that are dangerous to pet!," Zack panicked.
"Oh, don't worry. There's no coyotes here," I explained.
"There aren't?," Zack asked, relieved.
"No. Actually, the woods were named after actor Peter Coyote." Milo finished.
"Really?," Zack asked again
"Yeah! He donated all this land to the city... as a wolf preserve," Milo explained as I chuckled. A wolf howled in the background.
"You get how that's not better, right?", Zack asked, fed up.
"We know," I whispered to Zack as we started being chased by the wolves. Zack screamed loudly.
"Don't worry! Wolves love peanut butter", Milo shouted as he threw a PB&J sandwich to the wolves, but one of them threw it back onto Zack's back, who screamed louder. I took a tennis racket out of my satchel and took the sandwich off his back.
"You carry a tennis racket in your bag?," Zack asked me
"You don't?," I asked him.
"Follow me!," Milo shouted at us. We climbed up to a tree to escape the wolves.
"You know, wolves barely ever attack humans," Milo said as we climbed.
"Is that true?," Zack asked
"Oh, yeah. Bees are responsible for many more fatalities than wolves every year," I explained.
We looked up and saw a bee hive right next to us. We tried to crawl through the tree,but it started to break.
"Hey, we're out of the woods!," Milo said as we looked over the fence.
"What do you mean?!," Zack half shouted.
"He means we're outside the fence. Just jump!", I explained. We jumped down the tree, which then shot the beehive into the sky. We ducked afraid of the beehive hitting us. But it fell in the woods on the other side of the fence.
"Wow! That was incredibly lucky! The way the day's been going I was pretty sure it was going to come here and..." Milo started saying.
Suddenly, something crashed into the fence several times. When the fence finally broke , it was revealed that the beehive had fallen onto a wolf and made it angry. We were first confused by the scene, but then the wolf started chasing us. So we ran away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were being chased by the wolf with the bee hive on its head. But weirder things had happened to me and Milo.
"How many fatalities are blamed on wolves and bees together?," Zack asked scared
"Well, we would be the first," Milo said overly cheerfully. We then proceeded to fall into a sewer, the wolf was heard howling away. We tumbled down into the sewer groaning. We stood up looking around.
"Here you go! These will help us navigate in the dark", I said, passing Zack a headlamp. Milo shrugged, pulling his own on.
"Dude, if and when we get outta-," Zack started saying, looking towards us.
"Oh no Zack you fell in," I exclaimed pointing to a clearly dry Zack.
"What no I-<' Zack started saying as I pushed him in.
"Yep you sure did, don't worry Milo we'll catch up with you," I called to Milo as he kept walking.
"Here," I said, helping Zack out of the water and handing him a towel.
"What was that for?," Zack asked me.
"Listen I know it's hard being around Milo, I mean I'm his twin," I said
"So whats that-<" Zack started saying.
"Look Milos friends are few and far btween, so are mine," I explained
"OK him I get but you," Zack said
"Listen I've been Milos only freind for a long time newbie," I said
"Ok I guess," he said.
"Just try and make it through the rest of today, and if you don't like us you can always step back tomorrow, but right now we need to get out of the sewers and that means not making Milo give any long ass speeches," I finshed explaining as we caught up to Milo.
"Ok fine but this cyclone of calamity that follows you two everywhere you go is isane. How you guys live like this I'll never know," Zack said, annoyed. I just stared as I threw my lunch to a racoon that tried attacking Milo.
"How do you live like that?!,"  Milo asked, breaking the silence.
"What do you mean?," Zack asked, confused. We stopped walking to face Zack. I guess I hadn't been mean enough.
"I mean, you want to live like those other kids? They took a bus to school today. A bus! Does that seem like more fun to you?," Milo asked him. Zack thought for a while, then looked at us. To be honest though sometimes I wanted to take the bus to school like a normal kid. Or even be praised by my parents for the same things Milo did. But that wasn't important right now.
"Uhm. Alright. Where to next?," Zack asked happily.
"Well, there's a loose grate up over here to the left. We've been here before," I explained
"Of course you have," Zack sighed. We got out of the sewers and walked onto a construction site. We looked around. I smiled. Water blew up from the pipe. Zack turned to see this, and fell into a wheelbarrow. Milo then pushed him to escape the water following them. We  ran onto a crane, which broke and caused them to fall into one of the trucks.
"Hey, Milo, Mila! Are those new scars?," the worker inside the truck asked.
"Yeah! Thanks for noticing," Milo said
"Yep, matching to," I added.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had been following the bus. But then we fall into the giant river in the middle of town. In the river we were looking for a way out of our little predicament.
"We should get a way to steer this thing to shore," Zack said.
"We don't need to. Look! The Maple Street Bridge. Here. We'll give you a boost," I said.
"Wait I'm stronger than-<" Zack began saying.
"Nope, not even close," I said, cutting him off. Zack shrugged and we began to lift him up when the wolf attacked them again. But Diogee jumped onto the wolf just in time causing Zack to miss the bridge.
"Excellent, Diogee! Good boy!," Milo said, petting him.
"Here you go. But we do need you to go home, okay?," I said giving Diogee a treat and sending him on his way. Diogee swam off into the river.
"You know, I don't know if it's the adrenaline talking, but I'm starting to feel like we can handle anything that comes our way," Zack exclaimed as a water tower fell into the river, making a big wave. The wave caused us to land on a cliff where we fell off freely.
"Or maybe not anything," Zack said as we free fell through the air. We ended up landing on top of a UFO with two aliens inside, one of them pointed at Zack.
~~~~
"Well, this is a surprise," I said. In the spaceship, we were tied in three alien devices. The aliens were testing some unknown tool.
"You know, they are from out of town. Maybe they don't even realize they're inconveniencing us," Milo said.
"Uh, guys, guys. Um, I realize you've come a long way. But we really need to get to school," Zack tried pleading with the aliens. We smiled nervously, and the aliens turned off their tools.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We appeared from the alien abduction right before the bell rang. The whole class seemed to be surprised.
"Phew! Made it all in one piece. Of course the wolves got my lunch," Milo said
"Mine got crushed at the bus stop," Zack said
"Mine got taken by that racoon. Guess we're going hungry," I exclaimed.
"Don't worry. I got you three covered," Melissa said tapping her desk. The other students put all the food they bet on Milo's desk groaning.
"Oh, look! A vitamin C tablet, " Milo said. Zack stared at him.
"What? It's cold and flu season," I explained.
