A figure ran through the heavy downpour in Seattle Washington. She was late, of course she was late. She ran through the twisting allies and along the worn down streets as cars whizzed by, and people ran to escape the malevolent storm, all unaware of the spy in their midst. The figure entered into a coffee shop with an air of secrecy that would hang on her even in death's hands. In the coffee shop she entered the bathroom. In there lay a vent. A vent which led to a secret underground base for the O.W.C.A's detectives. All of them human thanks to a gone wrong experiment by Dr. Doofenshmirtz before his untimely disappearance. So now OWCA just hired humans. The figure lifted off her coat revealing her auburn her and tired blue eyes that held stories that would never escape her lips.
"Chase," a man called. He was around her age and had brown hair and green eyes.
"Smith," Melissa Chase said taking the coffee from him "Thanks," she said
"Anytime," James Smith said.
"Hmm, any new data Chase?" One of the older detectives, Perry asked.
"Murphys got some new device, form my intel, it could be the one," she said
"So he's finally done it," Monogram said, looking over the blueprints Chase had laid out.
"We should send this to the Flynns, they'll be able to build something to stop it," another detective, Will Jackson said. He had jet black hair and eyes, with dark skin and a 5 o'clock shadow.
"In time?" Chase asked
"It'd be safer to send in an attack team now, if Murphys really done it, it will be the apocalypse, and no will survive, " Monogram said
"With all due respect sir, the Flynns have been helping us for years,"
"We can't always rely on them, besides, destroying it would be better than changing its purpose," Smith said
"As commanding officer I'm inclined to agree, Perry will lead an attack team on this new machine,"
"Of course sir, how long do we have Chase?"
"About a month before he'll be able to activate it," Chase said
"Well, then, we'll assemble our force by then. You three are obviously on it, we just need a few more.

Zack Underwood had seen a lot of strange things in his life, but none stranger than the figure that watched his window each night. He had been at college for 2 years now, and every night without fail he saw a hooded figure watching him. So now he was determined to find out who they were, and why on earth they would watch him. Though to be fair the figure had been watching since his first day at college. So now as the figure turned and sunk back into the forgiving shadows, Zack pulled on his raincoat and ran through the lopsided halls, down the rickety stairs and out into the light rain that plagued every town in the country nowadays. The figure had noticed Zack's appearance and begun running through rooftops and soaring through the midnight sky as Zack struggled to catch up. Finally atop one of the utmost walls Zack caught up.
"Wait!" He called. The figure stopped and turned their head to see him clearly. "Who are you?" he w]asked. But just as the figure was about to keep running Zack pulled a gun on her. "This doesn't have to get violent, just tell me why-," The figure moved and Zack pushed the trigger. The bullet flew but the figure dodged and attacked Zack stealing his gun and pinning him against the wall of an entry way causing her hood to fall, revealing her auburn hair and blue eyes.
"Melissa......." Zack said as the woman released his arms and stepped back. "Is it,...is it really you?" Zack asked. Is it really you? The words hung between them holding them hostage as their eyes searched one anothers, longing for that recognition they once held all those years ago. Back when they had been smaller, and their eyes less full of demons screaming to be realized. Their heads aloof, and their bodies intertwined. But now they stood oceans apart. Finally Melissa spoke
"Hey Zack," she said
"What's-why have you been watching me?" Zack asked eyeing her
"I wanted to make sure college was treating you well,"
"By watching me, like some kind of creep?"
"Look, I'm sorry, okay, but I just had to make sure you wouldn't turn out like, well you know,"
"Like what?! Milo? How do I know you haven't become him either?" Zack asked
"I would never stoop to his level, how dare you,"
"How dare I? You were watching me for that very reason!"
"I can't lose another friend,"
"Really? That's all I am to you?"
"You know you mean more to me than that,"
"Do I?"
"What are talking about, I love you,"
"Do you? I don't care if you watched over me all these years, after Milas death you went awol, your family moved, I haven't seen you in 8 years, and now you show up here acting as though everythings fine, as though were fine,"
"Zack, I have watched over you every year since I moved, how do you think I knew which college you went to?"
"You-how?"
"I asked my friend Perry to keep an eye on you, but now that you're closer to me, I can finally see you again,"
"Right, see me, not Milo, from what I hear he's caused quite the storm, Detective Chase," Zack said holding up Melissa's badge he had grabbed in the fight.
"Give that back," Melissa said
"First tell me that your here for me and not that washed up-," Zack
"Don't say that about him,"
"His crazy experiments killed my-,"
"I don't care!"
"You don't care?"
"No! Milo was the first friend I ever had, I can't lose him to,"
"You already did,"
"Give back the badge Underwood," Melissa said her gaze hardening
"Does the O.C.W.A know of your loyalties, of your soft spot for a madman?!"
"That madman was like my brother, and I thought you felt the same,"
"You thought wrong, Milo Murphy is no friend of me, not after what he did,"
"Zack, whatever he did, isn't important right now, just give me back my badge,"
"He killed my mom, here's your badge Chase," Zack said, throwing Melissa her badge and slinking off into the shadows leaving a stunned Melissa dripping in the cold rain, her fist tight around her badge.
