The Gig

(I know I skipped game night but that's not really important to Mila's central story, I know I also skipped Pace Makes Waste, but that's more about Milo and Elliot's relationship. Also I'm sorry I've been on hiatus for a while, I just dealing with some family stuff, but I'm back and will try and update each week. Enjoy)

Season 2 (To be honest I don't know which episode or season this is I'm going to assume its season 2 because of context clues, thanks for understanding, also I know I skipped the whole pistachio take-over plotline, but that's really weird, and um I didn't know how Mila's storyline would intertwine with that part of the story, so in my cannon the pistachios never take over become sentient. anyways I hope you enjoy this episode, next week I'll have the episode number)

"And that's why I wear sweater vests," Milo said as me, him, Melissa and Zack were sitting on a bench with Mort on the table.

"I don't know who you are anymore," Melissa joked

"Neither do I," I said smirking as Zack got up and put his backpack on.

"All right, who's ready for video games and snacks at my house?" He asked when Amanda walked up with clipboard in hand

"Not you," she said, ripping off a page on a clipboard. "You forgot the 'Forget The Llamas Save The Alpacas' benefit concert. You have a gig today,"

"We do?," Melissa asked

"I should know, I'm your new manager," Amanda said matter of factly.

"You are? Since when?," Zack asked confused

"Since five seconds ago, were you not listening?," Amanda asked

"Wow. I guess I wasn't listening. But I don't know about having a manager, when we don't even have a good band name yet," Zack said

"Well, we are Just Getting Started," I said

"But that name was a mistake. What about 'Zack of All Trades?' Oh, or 'Murphy's Lawyers," Zack suggested.

"'Melissa and the who cares who else's?'" Melissa said. Amanda started writing on the clipboard and then said

"Band name, TBD. Meantime pick up rehearsals right here, right now," before messaging someone on her phone.

"But our instruments are...," Milo started when Chad drove up with everyone's instruments.

"Uh, guys I got this text from Amanda...," he said before dropping the drum

"But we still need power to...," Zack started when a generator started up.

"Amanda texted me and I just blindly followed her instructions. It's what I do," Lydia said

Everyone was now using the bench as a makeshift stage and tuning their instruments, Zack's side suddenly fell, flinging the speaker at the baseball player, whilst the ball headed in the bench's direction.

"Heads up," Melissa called as the ball bounced off the drum kit and the speakers knocked everything over. Melissa got off, and the ball flew and bounced off a cloaked sky object, which briefly appeared and disappeared. Milo then inflated a raft for the water following them, which slowly subsided, leaving a giant mess.

"Well, this place is no longer a suitable rehearsal space. Milo, Mila, rehearsal at your guys house. Now," Amanda said getting off the raft

"Are you sure? Maybe the whole universe is trying to tell us something," Mort said

"Yes, it's telling you, to listen to your band manager! Okay?," Amanda said slightly annoyed

Everyone had moved the instruments and set up in our garage.

"Okay, how about 'The Those Guys' or 'The Give It Ups'?," Zack said

"I still like 'Just Getting Started' has a nice ring to it," Amanda admitted

"Keep at it, Zack. Plenty of bands don't have names," Milo said

"Name one," Zack said

"Obviously if I named them, they wouldn't be bands with no names anymore, would they?," Milo asked when the ceiling started to rumble. Everyone ran outside as the ceiling collapsed.

"Now we're a garage band without a garage," Zack said defeated

"So just a band?," I asked as mom and dad drove up

"Everybody alright?," Mom asked getting out of the car.

"Yeah. Let me and Mila just go get our gear," Milo said. A beam from an unknown ship hit the chimney as Milo got Zack's guitar.

A stage and seating was set up for the 'Forget The Llamas Save The Alpacas' benefit concert. Our band's newest gig.

"How's this for our new band name, 'The Sonic Four?'", Zack asked

"Hello?," I said

"Oh, sorry, 'The Sonic Five'," Zack said before looking at his list."But, eh, I have better ones. A bunch more. How about the 'Lizards of Oz'?"

"How about the 'Lizards of No Way'?" Melissa asked as she tuned her guitar. Amanda then appeared through the curtain

"You're on in five, Just Getting Started!" she said

"You know, I like it more when she says it," Milo said

"Hey, Amanda, um, in light of today's intense events, maybe we should...," I said

"No way! If I've learned anything from you, two Murphy twins, it's that you never quit. I say it's time for us to 'Milo Up.' Let Murphy's Law just try and stop us. We've committed to helping those Llamas...," Amanda said

"Alpacas," Melissa said as Amanda plugged the Amp in.

"Whatevs. And that's what we're going to do!" she said before leaving the stage)

"Yeah, we are! We've already got a name," Zack said, placing the band name list on his mic "and now we've got a new song," when Amanda opened the curtain and Zack cleared his throat "Thank you, everybody. We are Just Getting Started!," Zack announced to the cheering crowd.

I went home happy and excited. The gig had gone great. Everything was looking up, especially my B.O.O.M.S application. With the money from these gigs and my new secret job, I would finally be able to pay for my scholarship and go there for the rest of my school career. And it was a boarding school. So housing was covered once you paid the typical application fee if you were in on a scholarship. And Milo was chill with me going, so my parents couldn't possibly object. I sighed happily and relieved as I added my recent earnings into my hidden savings under the floorboard under my bed. So far I had 100 dollars, I just needed 500 more. And with my new job at Larde World where I helped clean up afterwards I would get there. Just as long as no one found out about my job, it'd just make things messier.
