Mafioso Vacation

Intro

(A select few of these ideas were inspired by Arthwastalented on YouTube —such as the bodyguard idea and few characteristics of some of the children's personalities —)
•At the age of 16 Dazai is "sold"/taken by Reginald.
•Dazai is about a year younger than all the children.
•Reginald wanted to study him seeing as he has an ability, but he was not born at the same time as all the others.
•Reginald wasn't sure what to do with him at first, but given his extensive mafia affiliation and prowess he decided to appoint him as his bodyguard.
•He never told the other children about Dazai being his "bodyguard." Jus that he was their new brother.
•Dazai was shoved into the role beside Grace, making him seem similar to a nanny for the kids.

Five:
•He pretends to hate Dazai, but really he admires him as a child given his much higher skill and power levels, and finds himself much closer to him when they are (technically) adults.
• Dazai was livid when he found out how The Handler had been grooming Five (can be seen physically or emotionally, we don't go too in depth in this fic) as he was reminded him of how Mori treated him, and to an extent, Reginald.
•He had tried confronting her but was stopped by Five in the end.
•Five found it strange how Dazai never ate with them, only watched while standing beside or slightly behind Reginald's chair. He never thought much of it though, assuming he was simply a favorite of Reginald and was likely fed differently at later times.

Klaus:
•He's not the biggest fan of dazai, finding him a bit creepy and unnerving.
•However, he usually likes being in close proximity to Dazai because he will often nullify his powers.
•Just like in the show he struggles with the voices of the dead.
•Dazai started nullifying his power whenever he saw him after Klaus had drunkenly confided in him once.
•Dazai was the one who initially introduced Klaus to drugs.

Luther: he admires him but still thinks a bit more highly of his "dad" despite Dazai being the only person to take care of/greet him when he returns from missions.

Diego:
•He was always a bit off by how Dazai was a year younger but still had powers.
•He thinks Dazai has an insufferable personality and tends to do his best to avoid him.
•He finds it unnerving how gaunt and lifeless Dazai looks.

Viktor/Vanya:
•They don't hate Dazai, but they aren't in the best of terms as Dazai wasn't the nicest to them when they were younger.
•Dazai would never lay hands on them unlike Reginald would (when training).

Allison:
•She didn't have much interaction with Dazai.
•She thought he was cute and had a bit of a crush on him when they were young but she grew out of it quickly.
•She thinks Dazais friend (Chuuya) is annoying and does her best to stay away from them even when Chuuya isn't around. (This is for much later, Chuuya is still in Japan at the time most of the beginning of this fic is written.)

Ben:
•He was cool with Dazai when he was alive.
•Dazai would help him occasionally to control his powers.
•After he died Klaus requested that he "spy" on Dazai a little. After following him for a little he found him depressing and cruel.

Reginald: he only picked up Dazai for his power, he never intended to let him live in the pms hands but he saw what he could do with his power and thought it would be interesting to experiment and watch him use it. He kept Dazai close to him under guise of being his bodyguard as he worried he would leave or be taken from him. He used Dazai as a training exercise regularly for the children to see if they could dodge his attacks and land hits on him or to learn how to utilize their body strength and not rely solely on their powers if they were to ever be unable to use them for whatever reason. He would never allow Dazai to eat wit. Them, he had to stand behind or beside Reginald's chair and watch them finish and then eat only what scraps were left lest he buy something for himself. He was always a little too touchy with Dazai for to be considered normal. It never went so far as straight up assault but he made Dazai and many of the other children uncomfortable when they were old enough to realize how strange his touchiness with Dazai was.

Dazai: he felt suffocated and hated it at the uba and intended to leave as soon as he could as he realized this was turning into another mori situation until he learned the children had powers and decided this would be interesting enough to stay. He has a lot of resentment for many of the children as to how they treated him during training and how they snuffed him whenever they saw him near their father. They tended to resent him for being so close with Reginald when they couldn't be. He was never really allowed out of the house on his own so he was never able to buy or steal food, and he couldn't figure out a way to contact the mafia nor did he really want to honestly.

Grace: She always treated Dazai like one of the children as she was one of the select few who knew about his age. She never really noticed the weird relationship between him and Reginald because, as a robot, she had difficulty reading human emotions and social ques.

(All the children thought he was older than them for a long time because of how he acted and just thought he was small and scrawny for his age only to be baffled once they found out he was actually 1-2 years younger than them. Allison, Five, and Vanya/Viktor were concerned when they realized how malnourished he must've been for all these years to be able to look that gaunt and pale.)
