"In our own ways, we are all spiderman"

------

Kiara opened her eyes, looking around at the light seeping through her window. She looked at the clock on her wall, sighing when she read the time. It read 8:37 am. To damn early the thought before looking at the cursed machine that woke her up. She had an incoming call from Miguel. What the hell could he want?

"What do you want, Miguel?" She asked him, slowly sitting up with a wince. "I need you at HQ, now. We have to talk." He told her, glaring through the hologram. "So can we not talk through the this?" She asked, stretching a bit before beginning to slide a pair of socks on with her chucks following closely behind.

"Don't play games with me Kiara, just hurry up and get here." He said before hanging up the call. Kiara sighed, lacing up her shoes before she opened up a portal. She jumped through, landing at HQ. She began her short walk to Miguel's office, pushing the doors open before glancing at him. "What?" was all she asked him before slinging up to his platform and sitting on his desk in front of him.

He let out an irritated sigh as she sat in his way, leaning back to look at her. "Kiara.." He trailed off, looking at her bruised neck. "You messed up, you realize that, right?" He asked her, pinching the bridge of his neck with his thumb and index finger. "Yes, I realize that Miguel, do you really think I did it on purpose?" She asked him, rolling her eyes as she leaned back on her hands.

"Obviously, you didn't do it on purpose, but you still did it, did you not? You know better than that, Kiara." He lectured her, pulling up the footage of what happened. She looked away, not wanting to watch it again. "I know, Miguel. I'm sorry. I caught him, so what's the big deal?" She asked, looking at him. Uh oh, now he was pissed off.

"What's the big deal? Kiara, he could have disrupted a cannon event, and you just let him slip through your fingers." He yelled, ending with a large sigh. "You can not make a mistake like this again, do you understand me?" He asked, and she simply just nodded. "Yeah, I get it. Can I go now?" She asked, her voice laced with irritation. "Yes, get out. I don't want to deal with you anymore right now." He grumbled before waving her off.

She hoped off his desk, swinging down from the platform before walking out. She stuffed her hands in her pockets, walking through the hallways. She couldn't stand Miguel. She made one small mistake, and it's like the world was ending. She continued to mutter to herself, looking over when she felt someone walking next to her. "Oh, hi Gwen." She said with a small smile.

"Hi Kie, what are you doing? Wait, what happened to your neck?" She asked, stopping Kiara from walking as she looked at it. "Oh, just got hurt on a mission, it's fine?" She told her, swatting her hand away. "Miguel put you in a bad mood?" Gwen asked. It's like she already knew. "Yeah, he did." Kiara said with a sigh. "Hey, are you hungry?" She asked her with a smile. "I'm starving."

------

"No, oh my God. Hobie, you have no idea what you're talking about." She smiled widely, stuffing a French fry in her face. "I always know what I'm talking about. Back me up here, Gwenny. " He looked across the table at Gwen. "Don't bring me into this," was all she said. She never joined their arguments, but she did enjoy watching them. "Hobie, Punk-Rock isn't the only good music. You just haven't heard the good songs outside of that genre."

"Nah, everything else is rubbish." He wasn't going to change his mind, mostly because he enjoyed seeing how irritated Kiara got at the little things. She huffed, rolling her eyes as she leaned back in her seat. "I'm just going to try and ignore you." She told him, hiding a small smile. She continued to munch on her fries. "Do you want some?" Gwen asked Kiara, motioning to her chicken that lay on her plate. She heard Hobie snicker a bit as she stared at Gwen's grinning face.

"Haha, you're so funny, aren't you?" She asked Gwen. Kiara didn't eat meat, and they both knew that. They just liked to pretend they didn't. "I am, thank you." She said, dipping her chicken tender in ketchup before taking a bite. Kiara grimaced, looking away. The two foods she couldn't stand were meat and ketchup. "That's disgusting.." She mumbled to her friend, sipping on her water. "Now hurry up. We have been here long enough." Kiara was getting ansey having to sit in one spot.

Gwen just nodded, eating the last bit of her chicken before throwing down two twenties to pay for the food. "So, what's the plan now?" Hobie asked, standing up so Kiara could slide out of the booth. "I have to get back to HQ, Miguel wanted to talk to me sometime today." Gwen said, also standing up. "Lame." Kiara shook her head. She was actually still pissed at Miguel for what he said to her earlier.

As the group departed ways, Kiara and Hobie decided to go back to his flat while Gwen went off and did her own thing. As soon as they arrived, Kiara slipped off her shoes and plopped down on the couch. She laid down, looking at Hobie, who simply just shook his head with a smile. He walked over, lifting her head up before sitting down, placing her head in his lap.

Hobie rested his feet on the table in front of him, grabbing the remote to watch something. "What do you want to watch?" He asked her, glancing down. Kiara mumbled something incoherent, eyes closed. "Did you sleep at all last night?" He asked her, and she shook her head no. He sighed, turning off the TV before leaning his head back. He pulled a blanket over her, closing his eyes and whispering something to her before drifting off to sleep.

"Goodnight.
